Well, for one, you have to consider this. Will the members be any use? Or are they just bribing tokens? It's possible, y'know, that he just wants high ranking to try and bring us down somehow (All these books about sabotage/etc. have been getting to my head. x_x)?

Another reason, (I believe stated above? ) is that no one will respect some outsider who takes up a high rank (Especially if he's really annoying!).. and that could cause problems because this person is going to turn out to be an officer.. and aren't we supposed to be courteous to those above us?

Anyhow, I'll end by saying (Creative Writing, too.. ._.) that he should start around Corporal. He'll get his 'chance' soon enough.. He'll be luckier than other recruits.
