    StarCraft II Beta to Start 31 March, 6pm PDT? UPDATE

    The StarCraft II Beta start date may have been revealed to fans of the game.

    A select few Blizzard fans that attended the Blizzard fan event BlizzCon in October 2008 and received StarCraft II beta keys also claim to have received an e-mail from the developer, revealing the beta date to be 31 March, 6pm PDT, the 11th year anniversary of the original StarCraft release date.

    While we are still recovering from the past beta invite hoax, this could possibly be real, since there are no apparent hints that it would be fake. This is the e-mail in question:

    "Welcome to the beta test of Starcraft II!

    We're excited to have reached the beta-testing stage for Starcraft II and ..."

    Updated 30/03/2009: The writer of this e-mail contacted IncGamers to confirm that it's a hoax.
