My Thor fix

    I think that the Thor is actually doing well as it is, I see it as a more usfull Goliath while not as overpowered as it was in the original terran demo. The unit is no invincible, if some Terran unit is invincible it is the BC and even they can be brought down. Thors major weakness is probebly heavy air units and dedicated anti armor units. As seen in the battlereport they did not exactly dominate the battlefield by them self, they need protection.

    yea, the units that we have been talking about are counters to the thor, meaning the thor dies against them, maybe a thor could win 1v1 agaisnt a broodlord or void ray if you had a 12 pack of scv's healing it at every damge that it took.

    and mutas would suk agsint thor, (thors counter for mutas)
    and viking would be the counter for voids and aviously the broodlord.

    I like how they added armor bonuses to the balance confusion of the game. Even though it might seem illogical for some units, it still adds a new gameplay and complications. No wonder they were working on zerg... most of the new mechanics and ideas are quite hurting for the zerg as it seems that its almost a counter for every strengths they had.

    its not that bad. The zerg units seem to have the most armor compaird to other races. Thor which is suppost to be a monster only has 1 armor. Other units like ultralisk and broodlords got like 2 or 3. Thats way helpful not to mention what it will be after upgrades.

    But the Thor doesn't mind bombarding ground units since its limitation is for air units only. As far as I know, the Thors damage on GtG is neutral. So therefore, an ultralisk base armor of 3 would still take a hell of beating against a Thor - which is good.

    to behonest if i saw ultralisk coming i wouldnt waste normal attacks on them with the thor i would use its ability right off the bat. Thats ur best bet.

    whach the BR4 the thor has the bombard ability back.

    and i didn't know that the thor ignors armor

    I read somewhere that Thors abilety is called Massive strike. It has a range of about 5 and deals 500 damage agianst a single target over something like 5 seconds (Ignores armor, dont remember exakt seconds) and stuns the unit(or building) for 1 second.

    LOL as if Thor was too weak in his current state.... Blizz had to give it Bombardment....

    T already have:
    - Hunter Seeker Missile
    - Turrets which have unlimited duration and can be spawned without minerals or gas, but with energy
    - sniping ability (ghost)
    - reapers bombs
    - siege tank

    + Bombardment???? wow terran are so going to own in SC2 :p

    EDIT: Sorry, I forgot about Spammable Nukes that kill most of units (costs 100 minerals 100 gas). My bad ^^

    I think all the main abilitites and best animations of the Thor will only be seen and playable in solo. The multi will be different and indeed this unit has to be fixed.

    As for the nukes

    The summoned turres has a limited life time, they can be upgraded to last a few seconds longer.
    Snipe is not what it used to be, it cant even kill a hightemplar.
    Seeker missile (named has changed) has in latest build a red laser that points at the targeted unit.
    Siege Tanks are weaker than i SC1. They costs much more, eats more supply and deals less damage agianst several units. Also, there are units like Immortals that totally own them. Compared to SC1 there at not even spidermines to support them,

    I'm not so sure about Crucio being weak as you say but maybe we will see once new videos are shown. But all in all terran really is very talented among the 3 factions and definitely needs some tweaks for multiplayer if they will keep them like that. Snipe is fine like that and should definitely be not a 1 hit wonder against HTs. I thought that Tanks still deal mass damage among common units. If I'm not mistaken, Tanks deal bonus damage to light armored units and definitely it will hurt as much as it did before. As for support, I think mines are not the best escorts for the tanks to begin with, but mines were really useful back then. But its SC2 now and certainly there can be many possibilities for strategies other than what we are accustomed to do.

    The Thor's Bombardment ability is one of my favorite visuals among the terran units and I hope they get to keep it in singleplayer at least.

    I'm sure they will and give it that super cool animation like in the Terran gamplay trailer on the site.

    And tanks I'm sure will still sting bad as well.

    SC2 is finaly coming together and will be finished in beta, hopfuly the beta will come soon.
    Maybe they will scrap a lot of different units and remake a bunch, but the only race I see that truly happening is the Zerg, Terran are going to be fine, and Toss doesn't look too shaby either.

    All the best animations that have been cut already will be seen and playable only in the solo, not in multi. Too bad ... but it is a question of balances.
