Mundane question

The others are like, a giant space junk area. All they have more then are "us" are some speculative articles. I can also blog about random stuff here and say: we haS moar than u.

 

Yeah, this is the best Sc2 forum site, its quite *****ing. The cool *****ing, not the whiny *****ing. Learn it *****.

 

Yeah I looked at a few other sc2 sites and this looked like the best.

 

Guys don't get a head full of steam, it's comments like those (Aurora, Gforce) that's promotes bickering amongst fansites.

 

I'm just stating my opinion. The content of this site is preferred by me. Never intended to say that the others suck or some variation of such a statement. Most of the sites mentioned here are even affiliated to this one, so how bad can it be? Not bad, I assume. Again: it's just personal taste.

And don't point a finger at me for flaming please. (if that is what you meant) I generally don't even get involved with these things. If you want to blame somebody, talk to Jon(!). He's the one who got banned from another site for flaming their community, not me.

But in all seriousness: there are indeed some things that nobody should do. Intentional flaming of an entire community is just not a good thing to do. HOWEVER, I don't see anything wrong with promoting you own community, or summing up a few reasons why you don't like the other ones. As long as you keep it civilized, the whole fansite community can learn from each other and improve their sites and forums based on the posts in discussions like this one.

 

TeamLiquid discusses mostly StarCraft: Brood War. I know. I am a somewhat regular there. The question was pertaining to StarCraft 2 communities. Therefore, TeamLiquid is lacking in that area and is effectively irrelevant. Especially if you want posts that are about something other than how much StarCraft: Brood War will be better than StarCraft 2 and how much each poster masturbates in a given day. I've seen several topics titled "Who here uses StarCraft: Brood War to hide porn when someone walks into the room?" and, the sad thing is, it was serious. it was not a troll topic.

The way I see it, StarCraft2Forum.org is for social gatherings with cool, calm, and collected posters whom you can talk about recent news and the story of the universes. SCLegacy is more active and is better for discussing in-depth mechanics, analyzing balance and minute detail changes, and coming up with ways to make things better and new ideas for the gameplay. All in all, you can't go wrong with SCLegacy and this one because these two are, in my opinion, the best that cover the variety of the spectrum that I care about.

As for SC2Armory.com, I've tried many times to become a regular there but it seems to be a bit more boring than SCLegacy and this one.

The StarCraft.org forum is terrible. I hate that forum. No one posts there. Most people have bad attitudes and never give anything more important than a one line response. It used to be a good forum but the younger forums have taken over.

*sigh* I wish there were more people around here who want to discuss the mechanics of the game. We used to have threads about that almost every day two years ago. But there were people like me who kept saying: let Blizzard do the balancing. Most people apparently didn't know the difference between rough mechanics, and +1 -1 damage balance, of which the last one is useless to discuss.

 

That wasn't a head full of steam nor was I pointing a finger at any one, just saying how cool the site is, admit you know im right.

And to the mechanics threads, when we were going through all the statistics threads it got boring after a bit, since we were dry on info and still are abit. It just became tiresome.
