They should allow us just to talk to our friends BY DEFAULT than to select "just send messages to friends (allies)"

yeah, synchronization is a big issue; and the simplest model of fault tolerance where any number of players can drop and all the other ones still have a complete picture of the game is to have each computer keep track of all the units and buildings (therefore higher specs for higher player limit). If you don't do it that way, you're relying on the network for sync... which is usually a bigger bottleneck anyway so you don't have many choices left. Alternatively battle.net could keep a record to which everyone syncs... but if you remember from starcraft 1, the games still run just fine even when you lose connection to battle.net server.

WHAT I REALLY HATED FROM THE MULTI PLAYER GAMES was the fact that the game was automatically paused when someone got his\her connection cut. So we had to wait one minute without doing anything because we couldn't do anything. There was a button "reject player" (if I remember well) but even when I clicked on it that didn't work.

I think you mean the 'drop player' button and it didn't work because the timer was still counting back. You can click it once the timer reaches zero, which basically means you don't want to wait for the player any longer and you kick him/her.

That's right, because I know that every time I played, when there was this window, the player who got a problem was automatically out from teh game, because his or her connection was over. So anyway the counter always arrived to zero.

    That's caused by two things:

    1) Blizzard lowers the requirements so much that larger games become lagged.

    2) That person simply has a crappy internet service or is using too much of their upload bandwidth.

i think 8 is best as it keeps it from getting to laggy. In some casses the map would get maxed and u couldnt build which wasnt good for zerg cause that also means no larvae.

Jon: StarCraft doesn't have the kind of complexity that lack of system specs would ever be the source of lag. It is usually a connection-related thing, and it isn't even slow connections. When I had 56k, I never lagged at all. I downloaded slowly, but in game, never a hitch. When I got DSL, that's when the problems started. For the most part, battle.net just doesn't deal with DSL well. On my current connection (provided by the university) I can download hundred-megabyte files in less than a minute, but I can't play against someone on the same network. While I am sure battle.net will be upgraded to accommodate for different connection types for SC2, currently, StarCraft itself is still largely at fault for much of the crap that goes on.
