I hope they improve somewhat on the mushroom trees before making a biome for them. Red trees are pretty nice, but the brown ones look ugly as hell. Some variation in design would be nice too.

I think I'm gonna make a city out of red mushrooms. seems like a cool challenge.

Also; biome specific NPC villages are a must! Sandstone, glass-less windows and flat roofs for desert villages. Igloos and fishing huts instead of farms for snow villages. Vines on the walls, and stilts for the wooden roads and huts for swamp villages. Mountain villages can be carved in the side of a cliff, with stairs placed on the outside to reach them (safety railings to prevent the NPCs from dropping). Docks for villages on islands in the ocean. And the plains can have the current villages. Wooden forts for mixed forest.

For the removed biomes, if they get re-implemented; Full cobblestone/mossy cobblestone, tall buildings for the rainforest. Not a real idea what to do for Taiga. Maybe japanese-styled villages? Would need some new blocks.

So far I've spent pretty much all of my 1.8 experience going Creative and testing out new seeds, since none of the 1.7 ones work anymore (Goodbye, sweet "Gaia").

"Vault" and "Jurassic Park" both got me desert-island worlds. Everything else seems to be spawning me in the sickeningly common pine-forest biomes, with little to nothing interesting about em. Anyone find any good seeds yet?

Is there any way to actually see levels or anything, or is it just a bar to fill repeatedly until more updates?

Don't know what the old seeds have been, but "castle" gave me lost of towerlike mountains, a large patch of desert and either a tropical forest or swamp, not sure which one is it as far as MC is concerned. And some floating patches of land

Tropic was not, but had some interesting mountain formations

On a side note, I haven't seen any "npc" villages :(

npc's have not been impanted yet, if that is what you're implying with your quotation marks.

if it has vines, its a swamp.

I know there aren't NPCs but there are random houses. Made one world without using any seed and it spawned me right in front of a village. It's pretty well done with well, forge, several fields etc

Yeah, they're pretty sweet, though I think the fields would look a lot better if the field roads were made with something other than log, maybe planks. logs really don't work on a horizontal surface.

The bark on logs should be treated the same way grass on dirt is.

by which you mean growing on all exposed sides, which is not how grass works?

    Or am I just being a ****?

By which I mean growing when the relevant cube faces are exposed to an air block over time.

I made a new discovery today:

Since the wiki didn't mention creepers in minecarts, I think I might be the first one to see it.

    edit: Updated the wiki :p

Why'd you give up so quickly? You could have gone somewhere with that. What a let down.
