It's so easy to quote a few words and say: there? see!
Very stupid too. Proof that you didn't understand the whole text.

Youve only said that I dont understand the whole text, but you have said nothing worthy yourself. Not a single argument. What else do you expect as a proof than what I just gave you? You are an idiot man, I dont waste my time with imbeciles.

My whole point is simple and still remains: Early rock music was not agressive. It was not agressive compared to what weve got now? NO! It was not agressive at all, not even for its time. A lot of rock music is not agressive, as opposed to JBL's generalization, which I quoted.

My whole comment refers to the aggressivity of rock compared to other music genres.

By the way, your lsd, hippie stuff is very aggressive compared to the music that was made at that time and it's probably why you can actually include it in "rock".

saying "Metal and rock are the right kind of music. The rest to the trash can." is not a way to "talk about personal preferences"

You clearly don't understand what the rock music is.. or what "aggressive" means, it doesn't need to be grindcore to be aggressive.

I personally dont feel anything with the lerics of metal, save for a few bands, I simply like the sound.

I mostly agree with this.. most of the time I care much more about the instruments than the lyrics.. Instrumental metal/prog ftw.

What the fuck is grindcore? What the fuck is wrong with you. I know what rock is all about. The problem is you think in nowday's groups more than anything else. I dont care about the modern bands, I listen to the old rock. I listen to british rock a lot too, something than most of the americans dont do. I know what I talk about, you talk about fucking 'grindcore'. What the fuck is that.

The difference between me and you in our thoughts is that you describe "rock" (and even metal.. ) only with what you know, which is most likely psyrock, prog rock, brit-pop (refering to that time, of course, not the today's brit-pop) depending of the bands... and btw, those were very aggressive at the time.. they cannot be described as aggressive today in comparaison of what rock has become.. but when we refer to the history of music in general, it's another thing. That music was the grindcore of today.

You can't describe your opinion in a thread about a genre (which is metal actually, but I guess when can add rock since it's where it's from) if all you know is a very small subgenre of it... and over that, you can't describe it by saying it rules and that everything else is crap.

Anyway, I'm glad that my in depth response to the obsolete initial comment of yours made this whole discussion/debate about the aggressivity of rock.. it's getting quite interesting.. now stop debating about if you were right or not.. and find good arguements about how "not aggressive" rock is.. and it will be super interesting.

I hate Chris Barnes, can't stand the guy. And it just isn't death. Try Suffocation or Dying Fetus for some good death.

I vouch, Suffocation and Dying Fetus are both very interesting for classic american death..

If you get bored of traditional death.. take a peek at Coprofago, Cephalic Carnage, Meshuggah...

Yeah, take a peak at them. But JBL my man, you are implying that they are death (while not tradional) but they aren't in the slightest way connected to death actually, kickass bands tho, way better than dying fetus and suffocation actually, but I'm not really into death anymore hehe.

According to Cephalic Carnage themself, they do Mountain Hydrogrind.. and I guess that could be refered to as "cooler than usual death metal"

about coprofago.. I would qualify them as Avantgarde Fusion Death

    meshuggah, Simply Avantgarde..

Anyone like The Fall Of Troy? Fuck they're amazing, it seems so weird that a bunch of guys that are pretty much my age can make music like that.

@ JBL: love the sig/avatar. Aphex Twin are freakin awesome, Chris Cunningham does an excellent job with those videos. Although personally I prefer Come To Daddy to Windowlicker...both great tracks though!v

    Thanks man..

I really like both Come to Daddy and Windowlicker.. however I slightly prefer windowlicker because of its meaning.. I like the parody of american mainstream hip-hop videos

If you want specific parts of Come to Daddy in .gif I could do that for you.
