Offcourse everyone has his own taste (personally I find your metal taste quite old fashioned and inferior (don't take that last one too seriously ;D)
But the way I sayd it in the last message is wrong, its actually a fact (not opinion) that hardcore and real grindcore aren't connected to death metal, it isn't even considered to be metal. :p

K, lol, excuse my lack of knowledge in the area of Death Metal and/or Punk. ;) thats like a person who hates flowers knowing every species of flower :D. But anyway, pretty much its psychedelic rock ( like the Beatles, Pink Floyd, and other 60's-70's rock that you can trip on.) hair metal, and thrash. rest is all crap to me. lol. ALTHOUGH i do like Mudvayne and System of a Down. but the rest is crap :p

Metal and rock are the right kind of music. The rest to the trash can.

This kind of comment doesn't belong in the art section, you don't even tell us why rock and metal should be better than something else and you don't even give an argument that proves that the rest can be put together and labeled as "trash can" basically, you don't understand at all what music is about and you just want to sh*t on everything that aren't what you are currently listening to. We do not need people like you in the art section. Go take a look at the space junk, thank you.

Personally, I think rock in general (I'm including metal as well) has a high level of aggressive elements that makes it very attractive.. before rock, music didn't have that kind of revolting feeling as much as today.. I'm not a fan of old and pop rock... beside prog rock.. that's another thing.. but there are many death/grind metal bands that I still enjoy today even if it's dying now in 2007.. aggressive music is needed in our society and beside the so unknown avantgarde, "actuel music" and some underground electronic stuff, there's like.. no music genre is as aggressive as today's metal, and that's why it's great...

However, I think too many bands in the genre sounds the same.. and I can't stand that.. when I'm going rock or metal.. I want something unique.. such as Cynic, Coprofago, Cephalic Carnage, Ephel Duath, Age of Silence, and so many many others that I just don't have in mind right now..

Anyway.. I still consider myself as a very deep fan of metal music... and whatever I'll listen to.. even in 20 years.. I'll still remember my metallic roots.

JBL, Im talking about my personal preferences, there is no argument for that, just chill. Actually I do listen to other things, even classic music and some electronic music branches like trance. And its hard to understand what music is all about, because its a pretty complicated matter, like trying to define "art".

But rock, even in general, doesnt have a high level of agressive elements. Just listen to everything between the 60's and the 70's. Agressiveness in music is something pretty new. Listen to Hendrix, The Doors, Yes, Janis Joplin, Kansas, Journey, Steppenwolf, Ten Years After, ZZ Top, Pink Floyd, plus all the glam bands.. and even Elvis. The most known and early bands and artists of rock music are far from being agressive.

Besides, if you dont listen to them all, you cant say its all the same. Zebras look al the same for us, but they themselves are able to recognize each other.

To follow your example of closed minded stupid comments:

Trance is total crap. (and this time it's true too!)

    :D

You seem to have a problem seeing things relatively. Metal and the harder types of rock didn't appear out of nowhere. Early rock music was a total revolt against the system in that days and did have a certain level of aggresiveness, you just can't compare it to what we have now.

Firstly, I didnt compare it to what he have now, the other guy generalized saying that rock was agressive. And that "level of agressiveness" came accompanied by extreme doses of LSD, marihuana, heroine... and hippies. Really agressive.
