    Hillz thats just silly. A .50 Cal obliterates whatever it touches. Ever heard of "the pink mist"? That's all thats left of your head when it's struck by a .50 round. Literally disappears, vaporized in a mist of blood. A knife, bayonet, sword cannot do that.

    A .50 cal is more of a banana than your average bullet. A hard, metal banana.

    The gun the marine lugs is more than easily a .50 caliber round. It's a gauss rifle for christ sakes. Anyways, besides the point. My argument is not that a knife will do more damage, it's that you cant fight close range without a bayonet or some form of close range weapon.

    Even a .45 caliber hand gun such as the Desert Eagle will turn your head into a bloody mist.

    it would be very weird,to say the least,if a bayonet did the same damage of the gauss rifle.those things are like what,.50 rounds i guess,there is no way a blade can do the same damage.

    A desert eagle is a .50 caliber pistol moobox. It also comes in a smaller .357 form. You're probably thinking of the Colt 1911 .45 (world war 2 & vietnam pistol) or the H&K USP .45 Tactical.

    bullets will punch a hole like nothing, but they won't remove the limb without a spray of bullets

    Knives are simply more effective than a rifle in CQB (Close Quarters Combat). You cannot use a rifle or a sidewarm when someone is in your face. It doesn't work. However, a sharp object is very effective, and the person with the sword would probably win.

    Gun = Distance

    Knife = In yo FACE!

    Hillz let me re-iterate. If I shot you, direct shot to your bicep with a .50 caliber rifle, your arm would be severed completely if not having a large chunk of it vaporized. I dont think you understand just how vicious a .50 cal is.

    A .50 cal generates a lot more "impact" force than any other round. In fact, it generates a hole many times larger than itself.

    Simply the passing of a .50 round near a body part could potentially take it off. It will generate 13,500 psi of force upon impact. Simply firing it near an enemy is sometimes enough to kill them. You don't need a direct hit.

    This is why Humvees are such a deadly combat weapon.

    Yeah but you can't fire a .50 cal at a target less than a foot from you. The same is true of most weapons due to barrel length.  It is difficult to get a good aim at anything and you cent shoot from the shoulder at a target closer than the gun is long.  Hence the bayonet now that rifle is a spear.  You don't have to hack of limbs just put a piece of metal into the heart or head

    I would also like to remind people that .50 cal weapons have barrels a few feet long for acceleratrion reasons so the marine weapon is not a .50 cal.

    In general .50 caliber weapons are very hard to handle as a personal weapon. They're usually mounted.

    Only a very small number of weapons actually fire a .50 caliber bullet from a non-mounted position, including the Barrett sniper rifle. There are .45 pistols, but those usually require two hands and have hella recoil.

    I just have some points i want to say

    1. Marines in combat armor (or whatever its called ) is much bigger then average humans. So they can carry very big guns like an average rifle

    2. That rifle they are using looks like it has a long barrel

    so it is possible that it is firing .50 calibers

    i would imagine it's even bigger than .50 caliber judging by the size of the gauss rifle
