To stretch it horizontally, you basically have to make the y-value larger. Sometimes this is called the Width. I am not sure what it is in Photocrap.

What you need to do is make it look good. If you do that, then it won't look hideous.

Eh. I am a Graphics noobie, but uh.. It seems, with the programs I use, increasing out the Y axis increases the X axis as well. Any idea which programs will assist in what I need?

Oh stop with the anti-Ps blabber already. The two programs just work differently, that's all. If you took the effort of exploring Ps you'd scrap paint.net right away, and this isn't a question of preference or opinion, it's a question of functionality and precision.

Kuvasz, that's like saying internet explorer and firefox are the same things, just work differently. Also, I don't have the money to explore photocrap, and if the two programs "just work differently," then why isn't photocrap free?

In Paint.NET, from the top dropdown menu Image, choose Resize. Un-check "Maintain aspect ratio" and you will be able to change the width and height disproportionately. Only change the Width and Height values if you just want basic resizing. These values are in pixels.

Also I meant the working differently thing with respect to the options and methods in the resizing department.

The whole "limiting your creative flow" thing as well as calling it photocrap is ridiculous. I wonder what you base your opinion on - if you have anything to base it on that is.

Indeed it takes a while to justify the acts of PhotoShop.

After note: I was originally thinking of making an iHydralisk (you know like all those silly ipod backgrounds like iHalo and such) but then i realised halfway through that i can not draw an ipod... nor did i want to cut and paste one to trim it down. I think that I will redo this sig by putting in a decent background which i already have picked out. >>>>> http://www.starcraft2forum.org/forums/picture.php?albumid=57&pictureid=458

I think I would make the ihydralisk later on like a week or 3 from now.

    EDIT: done with photoshop ;)

I like the text effect but the background is a bit boring. Says I, who suffers from being unable to make it interesting in his own works :D
