    You are right..

    It is ruined because it is a bad story in general.

    The whole story isn't bad.

    The ending for Brood War was kind of...uninteresting, with the Zerg yet again killing everything.

    That said, WoL apparently uses a "everyone rebuilt in four years" argument to justify the sharp transition from Brood War's ending.

    The Tychus plot hole is pretty big, and it would have been nice to hear something about what and why Artifact does what it does before it suddenly showed up- but those things might get a decent explanation in HotS.

    Also, the sub-plots in WoL are pretty interesting, and make for good conspiracy theories.
