FIRST of all I dispise a lot of clicking it`s my personal oppinion you don`t have to agree with it

SECOND it happened to me I was playing Zerg against Protoss I was winning by the way and then the carriers came in hundrents out of nowhere destroying every base they could and with that my economy they did not dare to attack my first base off course and then it happend ... there was no more vespene gas on the map not 1 location everything was cleaned out so what I did was mass zerglings production because they need only minerals. and after a while my army was 95% zerglings I don`t know how many they ware alll I know is that there was not enough grooping avaiable to select them all so I lunched them in waves first wave from 1 to 9 second from 1 to 5 and so on they ware dying like flies on the windshield but finaly they destroyed the deffences and my opponent quit in fury of havving no units to resist the attack...

THIRD I did not say everything should be by the dice but most of the times it is because that`s fun when you do not expect what and when will happen and you should adopt to the new situation real fast thats real fun!!!! off course if you relly on luck allways you are no player at all !!!

FOURTH well I learn strategies very fast, I`m system analyst so yea I`m good at that :)

FIFTH if there are Macro abilities yes people will try to use them very much ...

LAST well there is no real insurance that they will make these things, but anyway I believe that they will make it more fun then just returning to the base to manage few things :)

P.S. This is getting us no where just post something new allready maybe somebody has some new idea about all this ...

i take it you're referring to your story where Carriers appeared out of nowhere. Random? No, you just scouted poorly. Few things in SC/SC2 are random. The only major thing I can think of is in what order you scout the starting locations in a 1v1 with more than 2 starting locations.

Are you a progamer known for your macro? If not, being a system analyst doesn't help when you're mastering Blizzards macro abilites. They will not be as easy to master as you percieve them.

well yea but when you play the zerg you can use the time to grow fast not pattroling 1 poor drone to his death which by the way can be used in gathering :) so thats bad choise but it pays off when you suprise attack your opponent with massive armies of mutalisks yea ? :) it`s very good to kill units and still have about 3000 to 4000 minerals ready to make your units even more massive :) Zerg players know the feeling ... I guess that you are protoss player if you are I hope to play Starcraft 2 with you as soon as it gets out :)

I think some things need to be taken into account and some shouldn't.

Early game in SC is ALL about Micro management. Especially the beginning of the game, where you have to distribute the 4 workers into each Mineral or else they'll simply crowd around one mineral and mine in different ones after the first mining trip.

I think automine is a good idea, some things just don't need to be microed for additional advantages. Realistically speaking, soldiers should know their role before entering the battle field. So you should have the ability to give your workers specific roles before they are built.

However, things that should be left alone is micro management in battlefield. If anyone of you guys have seen any Korean Proleagues, you would see major comebacks or winning against odds due to amazing microing. This is something that should be left alone, since it adds more action to the game.

RTS is about who handles the battlefield the best. Ordering your troops (Microing) is one of them.

@ Vasz, I'm not saying micro should not be important, and it should not affect the outcome of battle, Between two even forces the player with better control over them would win. What I am saying is that you should not be a better player on actions per minute alone. You should be able to micro lower losses and grater damage, but it alone shouldn't be the reason for victory, and by no means should you be able to win a battle if you chose your forces badly just because you can click faster than your oponent. If you are smart enough to flank your eenemy, thats fine though, but I put that in the category of battlefield tactics, more than micromanagement. Basicly victory should come from good strategy and tactics from knowing the game, not through brute force clickspamming.

As for these boosting abilities I think having a free boost is bad. All upgrades to your economy, weather permanent upgrades, or temporary boosts, should be an investment. they should cost you some cash right now, and leave you more weak initially, in exchange for you being twice as strong later. It is the whole point behind the boom strategy, sacrifice army now for a bigger one later. Whether you use that strategy or not though, economic boosts should follow the same philosophy.

Please do not quote excessively. Read the forum rules before posting.

THANK YOU, you are a man with words. That`s it that is what I liked to say all along. The outcome should be on the strategy you implement not the way you click things. Sort of say. Thats why I proposed these ideas in the first place. I know they may be far fetched but blizzard always knows how to balance things. so having draw back from a great boost may be bad but for the player who use it right will be glorious. :))

I've seen all minerals running out a lot of times. Does anyone remember the game where the Zerg destroyed the Terran's base, but was the Terran was just able to build ONE Wraith. The Zerg managed to race ONE Drone halfway across the map and mine enough gas for TWO scourage. Eventually, the Wraith is killed, and GG.

the Zerg are always the one who eat up all the minerals hehe because they have units that die quickly like the zerglings but bread faster than rabbits hehe so they should have something to compensate this.

They don't need anything to compensate because they already have a way. Zerg units die quickly, but they are much cheaper, a horde of zerglings can be very effective, but it does not cost any gas and the mineral cost is low.

But Zerglings can only do damage. In late game, lings are pwned by zealots and need other backup. Usually, Ultralisks are actually meat shields for lings.

Ultralisks are cheaper than the tanks of the other two races as well.

I don’t know I play Zerg all the time and if I don’t get 3 or 4 base spots I don`t feel safe sending my massive armies to tear up the enemy bases. Also there are units that require lot of gas, that’s what it makes this resource run out before the game is finished. Maybe there is a better way to deal with this rather than lowering Zerg prices.

Well, it has all been confirmed now. Vote if you haven't, and express your thoughts.
I myself think these changes are great. Of course a lot of oldschool SC people will moan, but hey - this is SC2. I think these changes covers up the lack of macro just fine, without taking a step back.
