Karune's Q&A Batch 9!

It seems like upgrading expansions into planetary fortress would be a good option, think com center would be better for command center in main base so you can still lift-off after minerals are depleted there.

yay old units in map editer. Dragoon, dark archon, archon, firebat, goliath..ect Yay But this batch of q is kinda disappointing... we already knew planetary fortress couldn't lift off and that protoss units could be attacked during warp in... bleh have to be satisfied with this then. (better than nothing)

The bad thing about Starcraft 2 is... it wil not be out for possibly 1 - 3 years. So every week or two weeks can not always be something "outrageously" important and fun! We will have, I suspect, a few weeks in a row where the biggest tweak is the damage of the unit and the speed on how fast they are morphed (for zerg), gated (for protoss), or built (for Terrans).

Plus do not let the old blind you to the new! I am seeing too many people already judge a game that is not even reached a beta stage or playable stage on something that is mentioned officially or unofficially. Sure some of the old units are awesome; however, out with old and in with the new! I would not even mind if they scrapped ALL the old units and made this a true sequel. If I wanted Starcraft 1 i can play that now... I want more... and yes I am willing to sacrifice units I love to see this new Starcraft. Yes I am willing to abandon old strategies in the hopes of finding a new strategies. SHOOT! I will love seeing veterans being killed by noobs as they learn the new strategies and the new feel of the game.

I've always actually though 200 was about enough. I mean, to have more than that, like 300, is just too massive and it'll just get too insane. I mean those bnet games with 3v3 or 4v4 would already get pretty messy as it is. I don't think the actual army size needs to be that gargantuan in order to preserve the feeling of a "large army."

nah, it needs to. we need more units. and it will be nice for 1vs1 in big maps. anyway 250 is enough. increase it!

Why doesn't Karune just answer some questions regarding the Zerg. Like at least give us some very very minor detail that doesn't spoil the whole Zerg race.

Well now that it seems we can get guys alot faster I think it would be cool to see each race have a building or somthing that adds to max pop like if they made the MS a super unit again as long as you have it you max pop is 250. and for tarren it could be as long as you upgrade one of your CC to a certain building making it unable to lift off or defend it self you get max pop to 250. sary no ideas for zerg yet.

They are trying to, i believe, show off each race at a specific event. Besides, we have possibly 1 - 3 years before the game comes out. They are in no rush from what they pointed out. The zerg, in my opinion, needs the most tweaking and balancing. It is the least played in the top leaders. Besides, whats the next big blizzard event? THAT is when the zerg info will come out, I hope.

I think that is a great idea! It totally makes sense in the Starcraft universe. Mothership is a floating city - +50 population. Planetary Fortress can defend more Terrans - +50 population. As far as the Zerg go, maybe there will be a new building - a Cerebrate Offspring or something like that - who allows for more control and +50 population.

I do agree. This would be a great idea. Especially if these super units, like the mother ship, cost 2K minerals and 2K gas or even 5K minerals and 5K gas AND can be used in normal ladder type or skirmish battles. You rarely see them, BUT they could make THE difference - not only in firepower but added pop. GOOD IDEA! However, the Terrans and the Zerg need such an item as well!

But there are already people living in the floating city so they are already taking up that +50 population.

Well these units would not need to be super units - as a matter of fact I think only the Mothership should remain/become again a super unit. This way, each race can easily access the +50 population bonus. And they shouldn't cost a ridiculous amount either, just a slightly more expensive building (with the exception of the Protoss, whose Mothership would be a super unit). Although, if they keep the Mothership at normal unit status, the +50 population bonus would not stack if you had more than one, same as if you made multiple Planetary Fortresses/Cerebrate Offsprings.

And paragon - yes there are already people living in the floating city, but the floating city would also give rise to more room for other Protoss. It isn't an overpopulated floating city haha.

That was random. Fenix has already been 'resurrected' once and is now dead, why would he be in Starcraft 2?
