Hey Nik wasn't that me? Might've been. Oh well.

I genetically alter my hair sometimes too. Letting it grow is boring.

10 years doesnt change a voice. Maybe 10 years change the voice of a 1 year old baby once hes 11 years old, but it does not necesarily change a twenty something once he is thirty something. I want my old cool jim back, not this depressive bastard Han Solo wannabe.

Is it really 10 years? I read somewhere that it was 3 years, or maybe I'm just mixing two things up. Regardless, I prefer the old Raynor, both in voice and appearance.

    Self promotion FTW I'm assuming?

I like the idea of Jim's hair being so important it gets it's own topic.

Obiviously, Jim Raynor wasn't bald since now he has hair, and the passage of time its excepted for peoples apperance to change, espeically over long lengths of it.

To say there is some Starcraft conspiracy about Jim raynor and his hair is a bit out there in my opinion.

Hmm are you sure it's the old one? Where did you see/read/hear that? Because in some Q&A in one of the videos, where an audience asked a Blizzard panel team questions, it was asked if they were gonna have the old Jimmy voice back, and the answer was "they were still contacting voice-actors" etc. ... so I think the one we heard might not be the one that's definitely in the game, and I also think it's not Robert Clotworthy (the previous voice-actor).

They actually said they have the old guy but there is a new guy thats voice he REALLY likes for Jim raynor but he can't decide which one to use yet.

As for contacting voice actors, thats for the other characters in the game.

Then they can't bring back the guy who did Zeratual because he has passed away.

I really liked the way Raynor used to sound in SC1, whether or not it's actually a new actor. He spoke faster and more naturally, without the southern accent. Somebody said there are two many southern accents and I agree. Even in the Protoss demo we saw that one crazy terminator looking old general and he was such a southern stereotype (minus the glowing eye thing) with his accent and a pipe.

Raynor also grew his hair back out to have a chance to score with Kerrigan, cuz he realized that she was very dismissive of him the first time around when he was bald.

Well, I guess since I'm from the South, I'm used to those accents and actually like them and think they fit well with the whole style of the Terran.

I mean even in the first Starcraft they had a few redneck guys although they weren't main characters.

StarCraft II only takes place 4 years after Brood War I'm pretty sure.

He's been through a lot; SC1, Brood War, and whatever he's been doing the past 10 years.

Still, somehow I don't find his change too realistic somehow, from a psychology point of view. Well, maybe it's not that unrealistic, but let's just say there's other options they could've went for that were at least as realistic and, to me, more likable...

So, the one we heard so far, was that the old guy, or the new guy that they really liked?

It may be 10 years between release dates, but SC2 is set 4 years after Brood War, and that isn't really long enough to cause such a change in both appearance in sound.

Growing your hair in 3 inches to make it longer for the sequel takes four years?
