I'd love to see where I said just that. Seeing as I just almost everything individually, including characters and even songs, without grouping them at all, really, even with bands, I very much doubt I've said I don't like rednecks or Western influences. On top of that, I prefer the current Raynor, who's even more of a redneck, and seeing as I'm part of Western culture, well, I don't know where you're coming from there.

And you completely missed my point about Jimmy the Perv. Three little tidbits of information. Firstly, Kerrigan would be used to normal male reactions. Secondly, Kerrigan does not react to normal male reactions. Thirdly, Kerrigan finds Raynor's reaction objectionable. Therefore, Raynor's reaction is far more vulgar and perverse than any normal male.

And seriously, the 'normal male reaction' is not so vulgar that, if the woman knew what the man was thinking, that she'd react as Kerrigan did. Seriously, Raynor would have had to have instantly been consciously thinking about some pretty explicit stuff to get a response like that, and I can't see anyone but a perv thinking of that when meeting a woman for the first time.

    oh my gosh people!!

I think your wait has started affecting your brain!!

Please don't lost it till the game is out!!

Relax, though his in a bad shape right now maybe at the end of the terran campaign he finds his form..!

  3. As far as your three "important" tidbits:

    1) Not necessarily.
    2) How do we know? She could do that with every male while not "on camera" for all we know.
    3) Again, how do we know that she wasn't just saying that playfully? It sounds playful to me. Plus, she never brought it up again. In fact, she only got closer to him. If his thought was so repulsive and he was so perverted, don't you think that impression would've lasted or he would've thought something similar again? True perverts can't just control their thoughts so this would make sense.

Now, onto the Western preference thing: No, that wasn't exactly what you said but it was the basic jist of what I took from your posts and you seem to have agreed with it when I first brought it up way back when. No, you didn't say "redneck" or "western culture" but you did say something along those lines. If I miss paraphrased you then I'm sorry but you seemed to have conceded to it before.

-- In case you read the old posts, I meant to put quotes around tidbits since it's not a real word as far as I know; not important. I didn't mean to insult you.

Not necessarily? You're saying she's been getting those reactions for twenty or so years from every single male she meets, remembering that she's in the Terran army which is approximately ninety-nine percent male, and hasn't gotten used to them yet?

As for other similar reactions, if it's not seen, there's no point in assuming. Seriously, you wouldn't say that Fenix's a crossdresser because he could be crossdressing while not on camera. It was obviously intended for Raynor to be presented in this light anyway, as it would have been just as easy to have her react as such to a Marine or anything else anyway. On top of that, she meets with many other male characters on camera, and if she truly wasn't used to such reactions as you're suggesting, would respond to each of them each time, too.

And as for being playful, 'you pig!' is hardly the most playful of things to say, and she doesn't even say it as though she is. The stuff to follow does sound more playful, but it also just sounds more resigned, as he keeps feebly trying to pick her up. Seriously, if she was playing, she would have gone with it, and not have reacted in such a way which pretty much ensures that he won't be thinking anything like that again when she's around. As for getting closer, I always felt that she just got sick of him, especially when he attempts to read the 'macho' dialogue, and tries to talk her out of landing at New Gettysburg.

Lastly, with the Western thing, you still haven't shown me what I said or where I said it. Also, you seem to have back-pedalled a fair bit from what you originally said about Western culture and rednecks.

Tychus and Hex, lets calm down here. I know you guys are in a heated discussion, but lets try to keep a bit closer to the topic alright? remember we do have a om system here, dont murder me please.

  6. It could go either way. This is beyond you and me.

I think it was meant to be playful banter between a future couple. That's a commonly used trope. Again, neither of us knows. The only thing we can do is state our opinions even though neither of our statements could ever be more than opinions.

I sincerely hate it when people do this. How the hell am I supposed to back this up? Please, tell me how I could do this (And, don't say search because that's not refined enough.) because I have no idea how. You know damn well we've had this conversation many, many times before and that's why I'm sick and tired of addressing these points. They're the same over and over. I've already addressed each point in your post. I'm not saying they aren't valid points; I'm only saying I've addressed them before. In fact, I knew exactly what you were going to say before you said because we've already done this before.

I'm not about to waste a precious weekend afternoon searching through topics for something that would be a pointless prove. It's different when you know the person who made the topic or the general statements of that post but I have no idea of either. Our discussion was one of the first posts I made on this forum and that's why I remember it so clearly even though it was a LOOOOOOOOOOOOONG time ago.

FYI: I'm not back-pedaling. I already told you that was a paraphrasing (A paraphrasing that, I, personally, found to be pretty accurate but you seem to disagree with.); therefore, I couldn't possibly be back-pedaling because I didn't make a definite statement that I would need to stick with.

Basically, all I remember is that I said "We're from different cultures so we have different ideas and different tastes" You said something like, "Sure. That could be part of it." That's all I can remember so I can't find this topic and neither could you.

@Gforce: I honestly have no idea what you're saying.

-- I tried going to my first post and working up from there since I know that was close to when we had that conversation but this forum only has record of the last 500 posts. That's all I'm willing to do. You can take that however you want.

Yeah I hope Raynor cuts his hair as you progress in the game... He just seems a bit slobbish at the moment. I can imagine him having mustard stains on his shirt as he briefs crew. But I'm sure he'll shapen up as you play the campaign.

It's hard to read emotions by just reading words. For all you know I could be screaming these words but just typing them in normal font.
