Is WoW outdated?

I played WoW for 2 years and got 2 characters to 70 with number of different alts. Since patch 1.8.0 up to now. (currently I am waiting for WotLK and not palying) I barely played anything else except from some DotA or Counter-Strike. It is an awesome game and definetly worth the money. No other game kept me for so long and its probably not the end yet. Now on the topic:

WoW is definetly not outdated but it is degenerating. I mean come on! Its over 3 years up there and 10s of millions people play it, so ofcourse its gonna get old. However I dont think that WoW will die anytime soon. Many people are leaving but even more people are coming in so for now WoW is safe.
Warhammer will surely do some damage to WoW population. Personally I ignore warhammer but I understand that many people who like PvP will switch to Warhammer atleast for a while.
Is it going to do major damage to WoW? Propably not. Warhammer will surely be amazing PvP game, but overall its not that deep as WoW is. Its pointed our at specific part of the market unlike WoW which interests most people. The newcomers, hardcore raiders, casual PvPers and only real group disapearing will be the hardcore PvP.

Anyways with Starcraft II and Diablo III coming out Blizzard is nowhere near bankrupting. :)

    I'll give it two.

And I wouldn't mind a Starcraft game that plays like Planet Side.

It'll last a lot longer than two years. World of WarCraft was still going strong when the Burning Crusade was released, and its popularity sky-rocketed after that. When Wrath of the Lich King is released, it'll get another huge boost, not to mention that Wrath of the Lich King has a lot more features than the Burning Crusade and normal World of WarCraft, so it'll probably take even longer to get old than the other two did.

Why do you hate World of WarCraft? It's just like any other game, except it's much more popular. I can understand how someone wouldn't like it, as there are a fair few games that I don't like, but how can you hate it with a passion?

I pretty much hate all MMORPGs.

They make every student turn 5% dumber each year.

That's a pretty generalised statement. World of WarCraft is just like any other game, just as addictive, just as grade-reducing. Saying that all World of WarCraft players get dumber is like saying that all Counter Strike players end up going on a massacre. It's an unfair generalisation for both sides, and it's really the other way around. World of WarCraft doesn't get people addicted, but people who are likely to get addicted to MMORPG's play it. People who play Counter Strike don't end up going on a massacre, but people who are likely to go on massacres would play it.
