Reapers will be useful as long as fastest money maps don't become too popular.

I've been saying this for a long time, but the pistols need to go. Why can't they go rambo with personal miniguns or something? I just think the pistols are a huge understatement of their power (unless they're weaker than marines, which they aren't.)

They're P-45 Scythe Gauss Pistols. Saying that they're just pistols, now that is an understatement.

A needle looks kinda weak too, until you get one in the throat...
but seriously, I don't think they look weak. Look at the Reaper vid on starcraft2.com (the one where a bunch of a Reapers take down a Barracks). How does that look exceptionally weak? It looks like Marines shooting, basically, although these guys have two guns and fire faster (which IMO looks more "powerful").

Reapers are a unit that do more than run and shoot. They will be useful. Whether people figure it out or not. Took 4 years until Boxer created all the modern SC 1 terran strategies.

Reaper D-8 Charges are limitless but held back by a 30-60 second cooldown.

Still, with a handfull of reapers you can easy take out turrets, supply depot. There is alot more than workers to harass in this huge world :D

Nah, Spidermines do more damage, are created by an airborn caster, can only be taken out if you have a detector, or during the very short timespan it traces you. D-8 Charges just lie there in the open for several seconds, with like 25-50 hp.
I am not saying that D-8 Charges are bad though, they aren't.

They seem to serve to really different purpose: mines for defence and D-8 for building destruction.

    Reapers Creepers... (T.W.E.W.Y.)

anyway Im still much impressed @ the reapers mines compared to Mr. Nomads spiders coz even though you say that its airborne it doesnt mean that you can spam them the way they can be like before, back when it was held by the vulture. And still the fact remains that D8 is made for structures generally so ill just leave it that way,. But even so it still depends on the player how will he execute his tactics, also considering that mines can be planted in your enemies face, Id rather have reapers charges overmines if im on the move.

They are powerful when they are in a big number. I suppose their pistols don't make as much damages as the marines ones.

They are good in the fact that they can jump over everything (or nearly). For me they are marines with jumpacks. But they move faster than marines. And otherwise they don't make more damages than marines. There is a balance between reaper and marine : faster, more effective, but give less damages. Except with their launch grenades.

A completely upgraded marine has more hp and a greater range than the reaper. Attack is nearly the same: Marine: 6, Reaper 3x2. But the marine has stim packs and the reaper the charges and jet pack.
Could lead to some nice combinations with the medivac: move in some reapers and medivacs and drop marines at the same time. The D8 charges will deal with the buildings and armored units and the marines will do the rest ... maybe.

Dropping some Jackals on both endings of the mineral line also should be nice to harass workers.

The reaper sounds like Command and Conquer 3's commando, with the charges and everything, so I will be good with the strategy. =)
