Do they even know where earth is? I would think they would have to find it first. Besides, earth probably isn't the only terran planet now. Getting near enough to invade would be a feat in and of itself.

So basically I'm a little confused by the very first post as to why the Protoss would want to invade earth?

I'm pretty sure their primary focus is the zerg as they're essentially their mortal enemies and the only times the Protoss have fought the Terrans have been when they've gotten in the crossfire, unintentionally or intentionally. Makes no sense for Toss to attack earth.

Unless (and thats a BIG unless) the Zerg went to Earth and Toss when a sterlizing world rampage.

On a side note, I get the feeling everything I've posted here has been said by someone else. Probably because it makes so much sense.

Why would Protoss attack Earth? For all we know they and their sister colonies could have 100x the forces as the Terran in the original Galaxy. Not to mention they have fewest numbers of them all. And I don't think attacking the capital world of any race is a good idea. Protoss don't count because they got ganked.

I don't think Terran would do it either... only Zerg, that would be cool but nothing we haven't seen before. Masses of zerglings rushing Marines. It'd be nice if Earth Terran technology took a slight departure from original terran technology. That way IF it were to happen in the campaign, it wouldn't just be zerg attacking terran all over again.

I imagine Earth to probably be the most well-guarded place in all of SC, especially with the knowledge they probably got from the Expeditionary Fleet in BW. It's probably just like Holy Terra in a certain other RTS.

The Expeditionary Force sent to the Korprulu sector never made it back. Kerrigan wiped the sector clean of their ships after DuGalle decided it'll be cool to check what would happen to the brain should a small piece of lead enter it.

Hehe, that's a theory, but i think the epilogue in SC: BW specifically stated no ships made it back to report the happenings in the Korprulu sector, which kinda indicates they have no clue whatsoever happened to DuGalle and Stukov. Heck, they might even think they're still alive. Weird thing is though, in the end of the Terran campaign in SC: BW, Earth receives a "Space-Mail" as you said, with (skewed) information regarding the "success" in taming the Overmind.

Woot, Space-Mail... patented by me. That'd suck if the information was so totally warped it came through with the completely opposite message it was trying to give. But still... A bazillion men don't return from an uknown hostile galaxy, they gotta take precautions right? And I think Earth will be well defended naturally, even moreso impending an invasion.

It'd be pretty nuts to see quadrillions of Zerg just getting blown to pieces while entering atmosphere... raining ling blood. the awesome CGI dudes over at blizzard could pull it off, and make the worlds best cutscene in the world >.<

Maybe. It would seem that they have gotten over their cyberneticsmutantphobia-thing, seeing as they had Ghosts in SC:BW. Yeah, Earth is probably turtled up to the max.
 I can just imagine Al Gore going on about the atmosphere bleeding and all.

Actually the Zerg would not rain blood.
They would just go into the Atmosphere on a Creature called a Behemoth. http://starcraft.wikia.com/wiki/Behemoth
Not saying that it wouldn't be hilarious to see that though. It's just not likely is the thing. Then again the Swarm would infest the world once it landed. *Insanely Evil Laughter* >:D Besides from what it seems Earth wouldn't be all that undefended. Seeing as the UED Expeditionary Fleet seems too small to be the full force of Earth. I'm thinking will be seeing more of Earth in SC2. I also make this assumption on the fact the Koprulu Sector's estimated to be about one millionth of the total population of Humanity. So I would expect that 1. Earth will not be invaded by the shear number of Humanity left and 2. If the Zerg did choose to assault Earth. Well, lets put it this way, they will need to be thinking of a lot of new Brood names and create a few new Overminds to control them.

Information brought to you by http://starcraft.wikia.com/wiki/UED "Dictorate Continues" is where I looked on that page.

@ JudicatorPrime Metallica was there so it can't be all bad.

Eh, Bon Jovi was pretty good, but then again, I like Bon Jovi a lot.

You know what'll happen if we get invaded by the zerg/protoss? We're gonna ressurect the Spartans, teach them to use guns and some pilferred psi blades, and give them a wack at it :p

Meh, I think live earth sucked too. I was expecting Metallica to do their old thrash metal, but no. The Black Album.

Back on topic, why would they want Earth? Earth is so standard and boring. We get too much of it in our own lives. By then the oceans would have dried up and the ozone layer virtually nonexistent and the air 99% carbon dioxide. Even the Zerg wouldn't want Earth lol. :p

Earth is protected by a ring of scvs. See, the UED got so sick of those guys picking their noses and acting like hicks, that they built a giant rocket, lured them all on to it with candy, and blasted them into space. But the rocket was built by parts from china's factories, so it fell to pieces before it could even escape earth's gravity. Now, the scvs circle in orbit, five billion hicks (earth had a bit of a growth explosion, resulting in premium Earth Core property).

Earth is not only to freakin far in the world of starcraft it would be impossable to get reinforcements out to the armys they send to earth. And are solar system would be on freaking lock down. in the world of Star Craft we got people on freakin Pluto. They would be doing a lot of fighting to reach earth, and get a sevear ass wooping once they reached earth if they ever got that close
