Hmm, maybe it's just me. But I see some differences between Immortal and ageless depending on context, but they seem to be very close. LOTR portrays Immortal and Ageless as the same thing (the elves who never age were considered immortal), but there are also other ways of using the word where you can see a difference.

A sculpture can be ageless, the youthful look on a sculpture can be preserved and would seem to not age, however it is still very susceptible to destruction and is very perishable.

and eternal is something that has no beginning or end, thus why some Christians use the phrase, The Eternal Lord.

Either way, I need to get working on my stats studying, finals tomorrow. I should sign off before I start thinking about English Jellyfishes and not math :/

Actually, I'm going with Hodl on this one. I looked at it some more, and one of the big things with immortality is you can't get sick, or at least don't succumb to illnesses. The jellyfish can get sick.

Ageless doesn't really cover it either though. It's not that they can be really old in a biological sense, because they actually get YOUNGER.

    Immortality means you can't die.
Thus these are not immortal; they merley have an interesting lifecycle.

It all depends on what angle you're taking. Immortal can mean invincible, and it can also mean the inability to die of natural causes.
