I would like SC2 in November 2009

Anyway, late February sounds reasonable, perhaps even into march. I would love SC2 to be released for Christmas break, however it's highly unlikely. At least it'll be out by summer.

Yeah I know what you mean, I feel the same but with TC's Hawx which should be out soon. I've been waiting for a game like this to come to the PC forever almost.

How about January 2010. Should give them enough time to procrastinate and get the beta test over with.

I personally can't see Blizzard setting the release date so far off. How long can they expect people to stay interested? Yes I know about the huge fanbase, but still!!

Do any of you think that by the end of this year. The SCII website will at least have one update? Not in screenshots but In actual content? Maybe they have something planned for the New year??

 

Most fans will stay interested longer than Blizzard wants to work on the game. If it's rushed then that would be a much bigger detriment to the "interests" of the people than delaying it.

 

Have any of you heard of when for sc1 it was taking so long that a team under the name of operation cwal (can't wait any longer) broke into headquarters and stole the game? lol i found that out today on wikipedia and thought it was kinda cool....thier even mentioned as a special thanks in the credits. I'm hoping for maybe early summer 2009 for sc2.

 

November 2009 is enough for me, because right now SC2 is on Alpha stage, so they will take months before reaching to the Beta version.

Plus the game has so many bugs and unbalances that if we get it for February or even June 2009 this game will not be accomplished. Blizzard will prepare, as I said a day, a HUGE tsunami of patches to fix the game.

I prefer to get this game later and be sure it is approximatively accomplished than to have to download a lot of patches to fix bugs and unbalances.

I have been waiting for 10 years for this game, so one more year you know ... it is nothing.

 

i think people have waited long enough but i think with the d3 project they should take a little more time on sc2

I think they should take as much time as they need to make online play and battlenet smooth and flawless.

That and I want patches soon as they are needed.

 

Well, if it is to have an opinion regarding the release date, I strongly believe that it will be november 2009! It is possible to have it in october...too, but november seems more likely! And the explanation to this "forecast" can be found in the similarities between beta test keys given al Blizzcons. With the WOW - Wrath of the Lich King...they gave the keys for the beta in 2007's Blizzcon, in August 2007. The beta started on the July 17 2008...with the game's release on November 13 2008! As for Starcraft 2, the year will for sure be 2009, that I can tell for sure, and the month...most likely November with a few chances for an October release and less for a December one...! That's my opinion

 

It does seem like there's the potential for some incredible balance issues. All of these casters and extra units might muddy the rock paper scissors that made the first Sc so great. The beta period is going to be extremely important. Best not to rush.

 

Only a demo would be nice....

I was at Gamestop today and I mentioned SC2. The guy got on his computer and said that it will be out in June.

Anyway, there is ONE sure thing, this game will come this year 2009. It will be released before December 31 2009.

I listened to the radio today and each year a chanel makes a point with the business of video games, what the consumers expect, what they want, and above all who they are.

The specialist, a seller in a game shop, told about the future releases of this year. He mentioned the most waited and wanted games of the year 2009. He talked about the Sims 3 and when he mentioned the strategy games he said Starcraft 2. He also talked about World of Warcraft when saying that game is THE biggest succes on multiplayer.

So ... Starcraft 2 will be for this year, we are sure of that. But for when ? June ? November ? I personally think it will be released on November 2009.

 

Yes, I am sure of that because a Blizzard representative has been adamant about it. I don't see why an analyst would know what they're talking about to the extent of what you're saying. If you read GameSpot news then you should see almost weekly news about some analyst's blunder. It seems the video game industry has a lot of terrible analysts

 

or things like this are horribly difficult to analyze correctly

 

It's logical that Blizzard would try to get SC2 out by November, as SC2 would be a best seller for the Xmas season.
