I think it should come out late jan. or ealy feb. because other people that have been playing the original starcraft have been waiting 7 years for the continuation well thats how long i've been waiting

Bliz betas are like what? 4-6 months? No beta in sight yet.

If the beta starts early next year, then maybe we'll see it in June. I'd expect more of a september/oct release period though, I think 6 months is even early considering so much is still being tested for multiplayer.

If Blizzard intends the release date for 11/09 then it is likely that they might say "maybe prolonging this game for another 2-3 months isn't too bad" and we could expect a release date in 2010 and that 2010 release date would be a real turn off to fans/customers since people will look at it as a YEAR part from planned release and not just 2-3 months. Predicting release date is just a bad omen with result of delaying.

With SO much work from Blizzard dedicated to balance, you'd think they wouldn't need a beta :)

regardless of when it gets released, it WILL be released before Diablo 3, which is a game which does not require a crapload of balancing, just touching up and stuff. that could be a hint that they have an idea when the game would be released, they just wanna keep their mouths shut about it.

Oh Diablo will require a lot of balancing. To make sure none of the skill are under or over powered. And that the drop and XP rates are just right. And the list goes on. But I agree SC2 will be out before D3.

  6. They needed feedback and StarCraft 2 was already beginning to leak so they probably thought they might as well announce it. It also served to hype up the books and the mangas.

Well considering the books (excluding the mangas) being released right now are the prologue to Starcraft 2...

It will be earlier, im guessing march 2009.

You have to remember that they announced they have finished a lot of the campaign + the fact that its now split and they have been working on the split for a while.

I would put minerals on it in march 2009

How would that work? So if you lose the bet, at the start of every SC2 game you'll give your enemy 300 minerals? lol

  12. I'll give you a hint: you have 1,972.4 of them at the time of this typing and I have 13,838.1 .. and our profiles and messages tell me this.

yes, one more year ! It should be normally THE best game ever so. I hope they will not take a few years to release the other DVDs. When Blizzard says "in a few months" that means 'in one year'.

I would like it if blizzard would release a game that doesn't require 10+ patches in the first 3 months to fix imbalances.

Why? Elaborate on why patches would be so bad.

If you literally mean 10 plus patches though... That's just silly. We won't see more than one non-minor patch a month I think.

  19. Blizzard's imbalances are far more balanced than almost anything else on the market. Their betas and alphas look far more polished and well-rounded than other RTS that are "finished", "completed" and put out on the market with no futher changes. If you are to complain about patches and imbalances complain about Dawn Of War and the other RTS. Furthermore, the patches aren't as common as you say, obviously. That's hyperbole. For StarCraft, almost all of the balance changes were done by the time Brood War came out which was 8 months later.

I think that the game is coming around April latest June.
