Hydralisk a 1.5 Tier unit.

The Hydralisk launches spines from inside its forehead, like how a rifle fires rounds from inside it's barrel. It's still got to launch them in order to strike its target in the same way that a rifle still has to fire in order to hit something.

 

I always thought the hydra fired the spines from its chest or from the mouth. At least, thats what the animation lead me to belive. im so wrong, aren't i?

 

Why was the spines green in starcraft 1?

 

Acid Spine

 

If I say the Hydra should launch the spines from its tail it is because in the official book of Starcraft 1 it is said that it launches spines from the tail.

Of course in the animation we see the acid spine launched from the mouth

 

It does not say hydralisks fire spines from their tail anywhere. Not in the manual and in none of the novels.

The upper carapace is not the tail.

 

If its acid spines then why does blizzard and such say they only shoot spines.

blizzard probably wanted them to shoot acid when sc1 came out..but then change the role to spines, thus sc1 hydra has green animation attack......tahts what i believe.

 

the reason was probably to avoid copy right fight with Fox for the Alien movie series.

 

Sorry, but my reference come from the French manual. I don't know why they wrote that, but they are wrong
