7 computer against you? How are you going to build an army fast enough to stop all seven coms from rushing you in the beginning, since they love to do that. There's no way to build an army big enough to stand against 7 armies at once.

    It's called blocking.

    The computer AI is terrible.

I'll need to try that, haven't used that strategy yet.

Another glitch that works against a cpu is send a worker early game, find an enemy, and attack it's worker.
All their workers will chase you. You can dance around and they will follow you everywhere.

Well, I do agree with Jon that you should be able to handle 7 cpu n/p before you actually go on b-net and play against random ppl (note there are tons of hackers out there), but I believe that one shouldn't strictly play against cpu in the beginning. It's much better that you find someone that is better then u and just 1vs1 him until you get good. You learn faster that way. Cause to be honest, if you can't take on 7 cpu, you shouldn't even consider yourself a "soso player". What works against a cpu is totally different then a human player. Therefore, I think that you learn a lot faster when playing against a human player.

As for the scale rating, it should be something like this.

0-1 = Don't know all the units abilities and how they work. You have never played a single game on b-net. You can't beat 2 cpus.

1-2 = Know how to build units. But you can't apply them in a real matchup. If you don't understand the game, build order, race-matchups, you shouldn't even rate yourself higher than 2.

3-4 = If you understand everything that I stated above, you would probably be around 3-4. You can also beat at least 3 cpus.

4-5 = You can beat 7 cpu's with np. Decent at micro/macro. Know the race matchup's very well and have played plenty of b-net games with a winning record.

5-6 = Approaching the pro level. Can beat almost everyone on b-net. But you just aren't good enough to join the leagues. (But the closest skill-wise to joining one)

    6-7 = Bottom tiered of the leagues/tournments

    7-8 = Mid Tiered of the leagues/tournments

    8-9 = Top tiered of the leagues/tournments

9-10 = Champs of the champs.

Well, these are my ratings. If i were to rate myself, I would belong in the 4-5 category. But of course, everyone has different standards. If I asked boxer to rate me from 1-10, he would probably rate me a 1 :-\

Ya, I found that out, its pretty funny, and then I just send my probe all over the map, and they just follow it around.

Also, how do you get 7 comps against you? I play with 7 computers in single player custom games, but they also attack each other as well.

lol, ych9 has 666 posts, beware of your luck!

Errg, 666. Not good, not good.
I was about to leave for school to take my quiz but I have to post something to bump myself to 667.

Otherwise, I might fail the quiz. ;D

    Set the mode to melee.

The cpu shouldn't be fighting each other if it's in melee mode.

I'm surprised how modest or truthful people are being in this poll. I expected that after the first 5 or so votes, that 3 jack@sses would have voted GODLY, without even posting a comment or anything. I find it very rewarding to see that people are actually honest about their skills, or modest about their skills and don't want to show off in front of everyone else. When I did play StarCraft1 and Broodwar, I never played BattleNet, because I didn't really get any enjoyment out of playing against complete strangers, but when I played with friends and against computer players, I usually went alright. So I can't compare myself to over BattleNet players, but I'd say that I'm an average player, definitely not a noob, but definitely not a pro.

dang, how can you beat 7 cpu, even with blocking and attacking suppy line early to stop production, I can't build up my defences soon enough to stop the first wave of attackers whan all 7 attack me at the same time. There's just too many of them.

    I'll rate myself a 3.5 :(

For my shame, when I went to battle.net 2 weeks ago, I had 13 continuous loses. And in 14th game played vs gosu player, don't know what happened to me, but I started playing like mad, he had some troubles with exp and I stopped out most of his attack waves. But he was more skilled, so wiped out my all units, bases, and left one building(spawining pool) and sent masses of his army there around it, and stopped. I was on the way to surrender and then... he wrote 'GG. You need more practice'. And... quit, giving me a free win ^^ Since then had 9 wins, so stats are 10/16/0. Now made a little break out, to finish zerg campagain, still don't know some units and abilities usability, missions really show them very clearly.

I could say skilled when I played a while ago, but right now I'll have to go with so-so.

    How this for teamwork?

This game I just played before loging back in.

By 16 minutes into the game, I had mass produced 20+ carriers. When my ally right above me got attacked, I sent all my carriers and observers there to defend his base because all his warriors were over whelmed. Secends into the battle, the red lost almost all of his marines by the time the yellow and brown were moving in.

Yellow had mased hydras and brown massed dragoons. After about 30 seconds into the battle, nearly all my enemies had been destroyed by my carriers with +1 attack, armor, and shield. After killing about 70 enemies, my only casualties were 3-4 carriers and a handful of interceptors beside the ones lost when the carriers blew up.

During that same time, my ally to the south managed to drop reavers near all 3 enemy supply areas and destroyed them all with little resistance. Our opponents surrendered seconds later. My best b-net battle ever

heh, well to be honest i like them to. but they really dont show much skill imo. because in a fastest map its all about counters and rushing and stuff. but in the actual maps, like temple or python u have to use terrain and micro and macro to ur advantage. Those maps really test how good u r and quite frankly i really suck at them. my rating would be 3-4 as i know all the counters and hotkeys. My main problem is i just need to practice with them and get better and faster.

I'm no good with hotkeys. I'm one of those that like clicking and pointing at things to make them move...wow, that sounds very undignified now that I repeat that in my head...

The issue I have on b-net is that I tend to get stuck with players that are new to b-net or don't know how to play correctly.

One game for example; one ally was new to the game and didn't even know what pylon were needed for unit producing. Another ally was acting like his mentor to help him out. The mentor was destroyed and he surrendered as well, leaving me alone to fight 3 others. I just gave up and left.
