there's no way viking > zealots unless in huge numbers, zealots has more hp and damage and now they have charge.

The viking was much like the Goliath, which sucks against the zealots.

Well, Viking can fly away from zealots. But they are too slow to be a vulture..... Anyway, I think zealots would be considered moderately armoured, but not armoured. Because they have high armour, high shields....soudns like armour. But they are also infantry.

You can have siege-tanks almost at same time as vikings, if you apply the switch tech-lab strategy. If Vikings are counting as early game, Siege-tanks can also for the same reason. And STs surely take down Zealots.

STs take down zealots, but how many STs can you build before they rush 12 zealots at you?

I think 5 zerglings can also kill them even if in tank mode.

This is true except for when there's a lot of the Siege tanks. If there's a lot together they pwn the lings because of the splash. :)

I just read from Karune that Siege-tanks cannot attack while moving anymore. Seems like they've been nerfed, and turns out that the guy at opening demo lied about every old unit returning getting an upgrade :p

How would that make it better? Then the tanks would get more direct hits on the zerglings instead of mostly splash...

PS: because of graphics from the first Starcraft, I always found it weird that the tank aimed at units when moving but couldn't shoot them...

Splash doe's about a good quarter to half damage to surrounding zergling's in the area of effect so it doe's matter!

That's the point: they could! Siege-tanks (SC1) and Goliaths can fire while moving.

Responce 1: Sure the splash deals a good half of the damage in a normal attack, but in your sonario in which you come in waves, it wouldn't change anything because the siege tanks would have more time to reload after blowing away the lings 1 by 1.

Responce 2: I'm pretty sure they don't fire while moving... I'll check next time I play. :)

@ Overling , no, the tanks and goliaths could not shoot while moving. You had to tell them to cease movement in order to fire. They were just good to use for that micro purpose. Stop. Shoot. Move. Stop. Shoot. Move....
