I'm afraid the landmines that reapers lay can't move like zealots does josh but unless you master the landmine timing then thats another question.

well, i don't intend to use the mines as a defensive strategy because that's a difficult thing to do.

Well, easy come easy go then 8) ...zealots are probably used more in early games,by mid games toss players should probably already cut down the amount of zealots produced. And now that ghosts might be a 1.5 tier unit, that should help the counter with their sniping.

The vultures were weak against them. Even a lot of them. Use the banshee.

Dude, think of early games. There probably, or most likely, aren't any Banshees yet. :)

yes, true. We just start with marines, reapers and, maybe, firebat. But if this last one disappear we can have the ghost, and the snipe ability. But we mostly get mass zealots on us, so one or two ghosts can't do anything.

So .... the only thing to do is create mass marines and reapers, and heal them with medics. The zealots will not survive.

I would use bunkers to defend while I move to Vikings. Vikings do extra damage to light armored units, and have more hit-points than zealots. Plus, they can focus fire better than Zealots, giving them an edge.

This would force the enemy to use more Stalkers, and they would fall prey to Siege-tanks (extra dmg to armored units).

To counter the Siege-tanks, the Protoss would have to make Immortals. Then I move to Nomads and EMP-shockwave them, taking out their shield advantage. With EMP on the game, all protosses will be much weaker, giving me an overall edge.

How about reapers jumping on top of cliffs and then shooting at the zealots. And then if the zealots can get up the cliff the reapers jump down again?

ohhhh pwn'd. My idea: Researchable Bunker Improvements

Putting miniguns in Bunkers: Since the events of Brood War the standard gauss rifle even when fitted with the U-238 shells upgrade has proven inefficient at holding vital choke points against zerg and protoss units. So they started putting mounted turret guns in bunkers which marines can operate. These guns fire higher calibur rounds at higher velocities then the standard gauss. [works on both ground and air units]
Why it wouldn't be imbalanced- it'd be really usefull, but each bunker has to be upgraded individually, and the guns of course do nothing if there's no one there to man them. I might have more ideas later if it interests any of you .

Dun really like the idea of upgradable bunkers, all pros dun like static defenses.

I actually like the idea, and those guns will still need someone to man them, so you still need marines inside. I really like the idea.

As for pros not using static defenses, in WC3, the latest startegies for human players vs undead, and elf were to make an expand fast and build 15-20(literaly) towers in your main base and expo, upgrade the building armor/hp to 3 and then tech to heavy units staying 50 or lower supply to get a lot of gold.

Barbed/Razor Wire wouldn't be bad idea either, given how zealots and zerglings are melee attackers
