But that would be a problem since you'll need a lot of gas to be able to propel yourself with wings and it's rather impractical and inefficient, which is basically the opposite of living organisms.

Hence the reason Blizzard said no one knows how they work.

    lol...

    IMO........
earths rule of physics doesnt apply to all creatures i guess... since theyre from another part of the universe and with a diff. form of creation... i would just have to say they dont get bounded by gravity and the limitations of physics.. one thing for sure is that they are Xel'nagas creations so judging from how highly intellectual their predecessors are, i wouldnt be surprised to see if they can use psychic or telepathic powers like the protoss and the overminds do... so it has to be "TELEKINISES" ^_^

Lol, so you are saying they use telekinesis on their own bodies to move forward? That's like... So lazy and X-menisch... But still a really cool idea. ;)

But to the point now: Blizzard didn't say that "no one knows how it works" for nothing. They thought out all of the lore, and every time they come up with something that just cannot be explained, they say it's because of the high tech (Protoss) or that no one knows anything about it (The Xel' Naga didn't actually left some kind of Zerg encyclopedia behind, did they?)

Some things are just the way they are, don't try to explain them with really far fetched theories, it takes all of the fun away. I just played I game of Brood War and was constantly thinking: "How do those damn critters fly?" Starcraft doesn't want to be realistic, so don't expect it to be. I don't hear anyone complaining about the Destroyer unit of the Undead in Warcraft 3 either... :p

Guys I found some info on some Zerg units here it is from my thread Link:http://www.starcraft2forum.org/forums/index.php?topic=4827.0
Here is the info from that Topic

    Overlord

Synopsis: The Zerg is a race that survives and thrives by assimilating other species. The Zerg Overlord is one such example, coming from the species called Gargantis Proximae. While the exact role of the Overlord in Starcraft 2 has yet to be officially revealed, all indications are that it will be similar to the original overlord.

The Gargantis Proximae were one of the more intelligent species assimilated by the Zerg and this is seen in their role in the game. They hover over the battlefield detecting cloaked or invisible units below. At any given time a Zerg player will have a horde of these since they provide population support for the rest of the Zerg Horde. This gives a Zerg player a unique ability to have detector support from the very earliest points in the game. To offset this, however, the Overlord is very slow when the appropriate upgrades have not been researched. The Overlord is a prime target for air raids since it is slow and essential for any Zerg army.

Another ability of the Overlord is transportation. The Overlord can stowaway units in its Ventral Sacs. When a group of Overlords flies over your base it’s a sign that your about to have company, and plenty of it.
