Map control used to be my best part with Zerg. Nowadays, I am a lot more careful, but scout a lot less. Getting better at scouting now. At least I'm building a ComSat.

Does anyone know any good maps for practicing Mutalisk micro?

Fastest maps, you can learn how to micro many control groups at once[/sarcasm].

I dont know any map names, but likely someplace that has cliffs near mineral lines would be a good choice.

Eon you have to hotkey your buildings so when your sweeping throught the numbers 1-0 you can check if the building unit have queued unit. This takes a bit of practice to remember to check them every few mins. When I build gateways in late game i try to stay 1gateway ahead of how many raxs/gate/hatch the other play has. Oh yeah. 1-(4/5) for me = Unit Hotkeys and (5/6)-8 = Building hotkey 8/9/0 Nexus cause closest to P :3 For obs just remember 1 per 12 attack units you have and + 3 for scouting purposes. In fastest I build cannons at the back first few mins to prevent a rush tactics. Goon range depends on what your trying to do. I play low but in fastest I think i would get range after 2-4 goons already out. Yeah I hope i helped ^.~

There are many things I can do to improve myself at playing Starcraft such as learning and using hot-keys, micro and learning different strategies and focusing on one race but I haven't had the had or have been too lazy to do it.

I just have never really gotten that much into the game to do all these thing and I've mostly only played custom/use map settings maps.

Chef, what's funny is how some of these UMS games require just as much skill, know how, and exploitation of game tricks. The first few times I played a sunken d map I got yelled at for not having the best possible strategy. I've since learned a bit of course, but some of the people who love those maps are just as vicious.

I like the impossible UMS maps and team lurker d maps(not the individual lurker maps).

I know. Sometimes I find that sometimes 1v1 people and iCCup people usually refrain from doing so as much.
Still, I remember once I faced a noob at Blood Bath 1v1. He claimed I was hacking. I watched the replay after, and he was mining with 6 SCVs, so he really had no income and was wondering how I could get 6 Zealots and 2 Dragoons 10:00 into the game when he has four Marines and a Bunker.

This is why I play iCCup:
-Playable ANYWHERE (no installation with the iCCup StarCraft)
-Small, fair community of devoted gamers
    -Pro people
    -Less flamers/yellers/etc.

If you really wanna get better at melee maps, Hotkey HotKey hOtKeYz like Wish said. If you can keep your mouse moving constant during gameplay in mid game, than you can win. The more you build, the better, teching up early depeinding on race is also a good idea. For terran its tanks/vults, for zerg is mutas, for toss its DT's and goons/reavers. Dont forget to upgrade as well :D

    Expansion is also important.

    Become a pro.

    You're already good enough.

    Or become an addict.

    *sigh*

idk why I play this game, or why I should even care about sc2. I SUCK! Plain and simple. Why is it that I pretty much fail a every game I ever try? Only game I've ever been good at is Mario Kart.

Losing almost everytime doesn't help that I get depressed easily. After losing a few games, I feel like ****. I'm not a fast thinker, and my typing ability is poor, so my best micro possible barely ranks at passable to even do anything in this game. Seems like I only win games through luck since others almost are always better at micro/macro than me.

Everytime I try my best at this game and flunk horribly, I hate myself. My games bore people and are hardly ever replay worthy, even to myself. I'm always depressed after b.net sessions. I've got enough RL things to get upset about and I don't need SC to add to that!

So, as of right now I've decided to stop playing SC for a while. Don't plan to leave the forum, but I don't know how active I'll be.

Eon, i have watched you play a bit and from what i have seen, its not only microing your armies.

Its also doing things like harassing your enemy with dropships,

Being more agressive in taking enemy expos down,

Also learning build orders is a very good thing to start on, ill givbe a few of mine.

Note: only rann because thats what i play

TvZ: 9 depot, 11 rax, 13 rax, 14 depot, 18 acad and ref, e-bay and 3rd rax shortly after
TvT: 9 depot, 12 rax, 12 ref, 14 depot, factory, F.E Make sure you get a bunker up for any F.E
    TvP: 8 depot, 11 rax, 12 ref, 14 depot, factory, F.D

    Hope this helps!
    :)
