I'm quite sure that all Zerg units will be snipe-able. There's no reason to make some snipe-able and some not. Easiest way to kill an Ultra with a Ghost: cloak.

its not even enough to drop 1 zealot in 1 shot, i think it's pretty mild.

but if you compare the Zealot's hp with others biological units' hp,you will se how the Zealot is one of the bio units who has the most hp(i think it looses only to the Ultralisk, but i am not sure)

Does anyone know if snipe works on air units? Because that has the potential to make snipe much more useful, especially to kill transports.

I do not think it works on air units. That would be severely unfair to the Zerg. All of its units are "organic" and therefore pretty much only Zerg air would be then targeted by Snipe. And only their supply/transports could be targeted.

    I don't like it. I don't like it ONE bit ;).

That is true. Since you put it that way, seems pretty bad.

Yeah, but regardless, 3/4's of your health gone, it wont take many units to finish off something with 50hp that cant defend itself.

Ghosts being able to snipe air is unlikely. They'd rwn mutas, and guardians too (assuming they're returning) and I could think of few things that would make me scream BS more than seeing my Guardians get takin down in one shot by a little ghost.

@ Hadean, think about Carriers for that matter. Could one (or even several) from this tiny thing on the ground make enough damage to destroy a huge capital ship? It makes sense with cannon fodder: A shot in the head is going to instantly kill a marine whereas a shot in the leg wont. But the bullet is still pretty much the same bullet as always and isn't going to take down a carrier's shields by 150 points.

While blizzard might keep it in for balancing purposes, I submit that it wouldn't make any sense at all. It's not the shield (which is projected from the craft itself) has some weak point in it. It's the same all over.

String, I think you've been mislead, the Ghost can only use it's sniper shot against biological units. The Carrier is mechanical and therefore will not be effected.

Im almost 100% sure that there will be a specific list of units the ghost can use his snipe ability on. And im sure that units even close to 150 hp will not be affected.

My guess will be all terran infantry, zealots (maybe) , dark templar(maybe), high templar(80% yes)zerglings, hydras, workers(idk about probes but probably yes), and possibly mutas.

The Snipe ability is currently not available for use against any air units (biological or otherwise). It would severely cripple the Zerg and won't be an option for air units.

However, it will affect just about any non-mechanical unit on the ground. It might even encompass the Archon, you never know.

if we called down some drop pods on an oncoming swarm of zerglings, that would create sufficient force to stop the incoming hostiles[assuming that drop pods are gonna do any damage to units their dropped on] [and come on , you dont get hit with a falling metal object with out a scratch]

who cares if the actual pod does damage, just get like 5-6 pods to drop out of nowhere and pwn.

I mean how cool is that, having 6 cloaked ghosts, and they call down pods out of nowhere, thats like 36 marines in 2 seconds!!!

it would make the marines jobs alot easier if the pods did damage. It's not like the average marine lives very long.

drop pods are not cheaps, it cost 200min/100gas/6food, 6 drop pods would cost 1200min/600gas and 36 food

But the drop pods would smack into the ground with pretty much force wouldn't they? I guess it would work like a frag grenade, a shock effect pushing all the air away, that would at least leave the enemies disorientated for a while.
