I don't know, I think the colors on the archon are a bit hard to see, but maybe it will be easier in game.

In honest truth, I can't figure out what the purpose of those spires are. It could be the Protoss War Shrine or the Twilight Council. But given the fact that they are placed near a bunch of Photon Cannons in the first gameplay video and that they're positioned near the Phase Cannons in the screenshot makes me think it certainly has an defensive value, it could augment the attack power of the cannons or make them more resilient.

It's a little easier to see than archon team color in SC1, just a teeny tiny bit easier.

Lovely sig btw Meloku. You go baby, woot~!!

I think if Blizzard is going all out with color and making the pylons and psiblades team colored, then the Archons' clouds should change as well. Atleast that would look cool..

I agree. If they're doing all that color madness with everything else, they might as well do the same thing with twilight archons. That is, assuming TAs are the only archons that we'll see in SC2.

Not necessarily. It could just be they have buildings nearby the entrance to the base there, as it could be more advantageous for deployment purposes. I mean, i've seen hundreds of players toss gateways, barracks etc close to their base entrances and not just for blocking purposes.

Speaking of color schemes, what if they changed the shield colors as well? I like the blue better than anything ( I think) but it would be cool to have RED SHIELDS!

Naw i think that the colors of the zelot blades should change to wut ever color the player is.

that way the zelots could score some XTC from the terrens and they should have in "Intergalactic Super Mega Cool Happy Go-Lucky Fun Fun Rave Dance Offs"

UMM look at the bottem left you will see a reaver and it is doing something odd.
I know it is attacking but why does it have to turn into that... that... Thing!
And look at the reaver on the bottem right: It has a ring around its head........

I think the "ring" you mentioned is just the reaver lifting up it's front most plate/segment.

I don't really get what you said about the reaver at the bottom left though.  I looks a little fat from it contracting all it's segments.  When the reavers walk, their segments contract and expand.

EDIT: What are the two things near the top of that screenshot? Star relics, or something else? I didn't really pay close attention to what star relics looked like so I don't remember. And the really small unit at 12:00 position, is that a probe? Things look really strange in still shots, they feel different from how they are in motion.

SC2 reaver is growing on me fast personally btw. Too bad I'll have to spank them for turning my lings and hydras into puddles, bad buggy bad.

yeah those top things are star relics. they seem rather science vesselish with a "ball" and two fins. And it looks vertical rather than horizontal now.

Hmmm, I see.  Thanks for the confirmation, I was clueless to what star relics looked like.  I thought those things might be buildings, some fat boys they are.

I'm curious as to why they don't cloak anything in any of the screenshots.  I wonder if the cloaking field will actually have to be researched in the final game.

You know what i think would be cool? Having reavers cocoon into a butterfly type unit. Maybe like a guardian.

Ummmm i think that would fit the zerg better but as seeing the ceaver (what i am now going to call the new "reaver") Is like a catapiller it may be possible in some strange, suck siege tanks in and use there metal for the "transformation" type way. But still LOWWWWWW chance.

Some people have mentioned that the Star Relics have the ability called Hide which probably means that the cloaking is not passive and is energy reliant. But who knows :p If we do have to research the cloaking ability, that kind of sucks.

Agreed. The Protoss Caterpie has a ring to it! :good:

About the "Spires": If I'm not mistaken, I remember reading somewhere that in SC2, there would be "observatories" that players would be able to maintain that added an increase in sight on the map.
Could that be what those towers are?
