Yeah, protoss will still be badass without them, but theres no single reason one of the most staple protoss units shouldnt be in the game, scrape the colossus, keep the reaver. Im not saying P wont be a good race without them, im saying itd be like removing the siege tank for the terrans.

P just wont be the same without that hard hitting mofo

The Colossus is about taking the place of the Archon or the Carrier as a massive, powerful, late-game unit, but now Terran have Thor and Battlecruiser, and Zerg have Swarm Guardian, Queen and Ultralisk, Protoss don't really need the Reaver, but now they don't really have anything that can kill defenses with impunity - Swarm Guardian still can outrange AA turrets, Siege Tank rapes any ground unit, and well... The Protoss just mass.

i bet you have not seen the latest vid where the Colossus came into action...

atm Blizzard have give Colossus a clear role and that is to rip the small units like zergling, marine, etc. but the lastest vid tells different story...

the current built of Colossus has failed big time in dealing with both small units and large units...
in another word Colossus is a fail product at least for now...

    Colossus is not cheap either...

    Blizzard have 3 options:
    A) rebuilt the Colossus
    B) bring back the Reaver
    C) new unit?

and in the same time the races balance must be the first priority

Yeah, using the Colossus at blizzcon it was not a replacement for the reaver. It was rather weak actually. I had one that was taken down by 4 hydralisks, and it only managed to take 2 out. Maybe if you had some units (zealots, imortals, etc.) in front of it to take the blunt of the damage it might be effect. But from what I saw it wasn't worth its cost.

So hopefully they bring back the reaver in a later build.

i think the colossus just need a bluff up for improvement its a awsome unit i rather it stay than bringing the reaver back, i would rather see a some new robotics unit with some new mechanism than the old reaver for the sake of its use or keep both , the new protoss is all about being mobility which it lack in sc1 that why the reaver is axe

    WHAT?
    I;'m so jealous.
HOW CAN YOU GO TO BLIZZCON?

I know this might make the game worse, but I'm a Zerg player, and weak Colossi mean that Zerglings and Roaches and Hydralisks still own.

I wish they would keep and improve all the units from the first game as well as add new units and structures.

Course thats not going to happen.

I would like to reaver to stay, it was kool.

I say replace the colossus with the reaver now.

The colossus is a fail unit now.

    Colossus+Reavers=Mass death

Reavers are good for base defense but to me they didnt make a good offensive weapon. Too slow.

I love reavers so much SOO MUCH Its too bad they're gone (from multiplayer only ofc). I doubt the collosus will fill its shoes though, It's a different kind of unit.

    re

I just think it would be cool to have both units side by side. Have several of both together and it would be tough getting past them.

The reaver proved to be one of the best Toss units in the game when facingmass zerg or terran units. It had splash damage and could be moved to various hotspots fast (If it was complimented by a dropship)

    Hopefully it'll stay ;/

Better be back. even though the collosus was more mobile by itself, the reaver IS AWESome.
no challange, it does high damage, faster than normal reload and is freaking kickass against rines or other massable units.

Better be back because it kicked ass. no matter what.
i'd be very angry if they took it out

I really don't think the reaver is necessary in Starcraft 2. The main reason people want it anyway is because of how it was in the original Starcraft. I personally don't want a rehash of too many old units in Starcraft 2. I'd rather they add an entirely new unit such as the collossus etc.

It will be in the campaign editor and i'm fine will that cause the Collossus replaces the reavers role.

Is it 100% confirmed that the Reaver won't be in multiplayer?

Well, that's the kind of answer I was expecting, but thanks. I've played catch up the last two days on SC2 news and it's hard to separate the old irrelevant news with the current. Thanks again!
