I never played TF2, just tried it.. Is it fun? Do you get bored with it?

I've tried the L4D demo too, but it was from Steam (unfortuneately) so when they realesed the demo it was really buggy and I had to update Steam like 5 times for everything to get fixed. I don't like steam, and I don't like games with the freakin' soruce engine! Makes almost every game look like a mod for CS:S. Isn't it time to sort of "move on"? Source engine is getting old.

I don't think that game is worthy of my purchase (if I buy a game, it must be perfect in every way, im fastidious).

By the way, what's your PC specs?

How does Team Fortress 2 look like a CounterStrike mod?

    It uses the Source engine...

    Yeah, good point.
But when they use the Source engine, it isn't really a whole new game in my opinion.

Half Life isn't different from CounterStrike?
    Portal isn't different from CounterStrike?
Team Fortress 2 isn't different from CounterStrike?
Left 4 Dead isn't different from CounterStrike?

    Really?

    Really?!

Same, same but different. CS is a mod for HL, I think that speaks for itself.

    Then Half-Life is original.

Everything Source is a Half-Life mod then, using your logic.

    @Lobsterlegs:
TF2 is awesome and not repetitive.
L4D is awesome. It was repetitive in the demo because it has 2 short Chapter of the first campaign stage and was really short. 15mins of game play, even the AI director could not help. But with 4 campaigns and 5 chapters each, about 45min -1hour game play at normal difficulty, it's not redundant.
In expert games can take up to 2 hours to complete with intense challenge. You also have the versus mode which is also a great value. I bought it and it was worth every dollar to this day.

Right now I think that CS, TF2, L4D, HL-2 are totally different games that serves totally different purposes that offers the best of each of those type of FPS. They are FPS, so yes, you hold a gun and shoot stuff, but so does other games with a different engine. I personally like how the source engine deals with physics and I find funny other game that does not handle physics really well.

Yes it's starting to be old, but for this type of heavy multiplayer game play you need an engine that is accessible. You can't have a multiplayer based game with a heavy engine like Crysis or Farcry 2.

No, because CS:S is a mod for HL2.
    And HL2 ≠ HL

So my logic isn't strange at all.

CS, Day of Defeat, Deathmatch Classic are > "HL engine"

CS:S, Day of Defeat:S, HL2 Deathmatch, Portal > "Source engine"

When you play a game with the Source engine you always have a bit of HL2 feeling in there, but It's not the same game.

    Get it?

    @ VodkaChill

I think I'll buy it some time..

I started liking COD4 for some reason out of the blue after going to my friend's house.

And when I'm not grounded anymore, I'm planning on doing lots of Team Fortress 2 and maybe s'more Half-Life2 Deathmatch.

GTA IV I must say is a disappointment on the PC. :(...however, multiplayer is a ton of fun.
