I think it's a joke but I will still apply so I can get the "April fools!!" email.

If I'm wrong, a chance at a Beta key is nice.

Who cares if it's a joke?
Are you saying that you are NOT going to apply just because you THINK it's a bad april fools joke?

Hey man, I understand. You're whole LIFE and HONOR is at stake, don't even BOTHER.

Writing a short application for a possible Starcraft 2 beta opt-in on it's birthday???

No no no, you can't take the risk of recieving a mail that says "April fools".

I know that this might as well be a joke, but who the hell cares?
And why the hell should I risk an invite?

I wouldnt mind a beta, though i also wouldnt mind playing the full game when it comes out. The full package. Instead of being impressed at the beta, I would rather experience the full game and be blown away.

Though a beta would still be awsum!!

Meh, my computer is superlame anyway. -1.7 g, geforce 2- So in case this is real it would be even worse to get a key and not being able to use it, then having to wait for the demo... Best of luck to anyone who tries!

My best guess is that blizzard issued a number of keys to the fansites and this is how the fansites chose to hand them out, that's why it isn't '@battle.net'.

Sure it is. But by whom?

300 words or less for a beta key to a gmail account, is not of blizzard origin. The countdown timer was probably not official either, but someone's anticipation of blizzard's traditional april fool.

    So who is the joker?

    @ people talking about g-mail

If this is true, then Blizzard has already given the keys out to the fansites. One of the fansite owners creates an account at g-mail and gives the password to all site owners. Fansite owners decide which people to give keys to. -And they know which user you are because your e-mail is linked to your fansite account.- Duh, not that hard. This is just being efficient. -if it is not a joke-

If you think so, since it could be a reverse april fools.

Remember, it's not blizzard reading this, it's the FAN SITE Staffs. Blizzard employees use blizzard mail, but it's the fan site staffs reading this not blizzard themselves.

That being said, I don't care if it's april fools. Something is better than nothing

By the way, most fansites have their own e-mail extensions, including this one. G-mail just archives mail really well.

If this turns out to be an April fools I'm probably going to go on a killing spree or something of similar nature. Seriously though, if it is, it's really twisted for the fansites to do this to their members and I for one will completly lose respect for the ones responsible.

If they do actually link your email to your fansite account i will be a little annoyed as i used another email account lol. Ive gotra say it does feel like an April fools but at the same time, you'd be a fool to pass this chance up, either way...your gonna be a fool lol.

This all sounds a little strange with the @gmail address being used and the extremely short time given to submit applications. I always thought Blizzard had their own domain name for their emails. @blizzard.com or something. I dunno. Plus I think this would be all over their website just as the chance to get a beta key was at the last Blizzcon was. Just sounds a little fishy to me the whole thing.

Anyways legit or not I'd rather not partake in any betas. To me it's like opening your Christmas presents one week before the 24th or 25th of December. Sure it's cool, to get it first but by the time everyone get it too and all the hype is around, you're like oh been there and done that. It's just how I feel though. And each person is different.
