Fourth Race Theory

according the intro video of terran campaign, where zeratul met james raynor, zeratul talks about xel naga return... i want to see xel naga race!

 

yea that made me more eager to play SC2. I dout the Xel'Naga and/or Hybrids will be playable, but rather as campaign race.

 

I voted for there being only 3 races because we already have one race to correspond with each of the 3 basic strategies.

Terrans fit iwht the turtle strategy because they have the best defenses.
Zerg are a rush race because they can make units so quickly
Protoss are a boom race because they can get an expansion set up the quickest

If we had a fourth race what would they do
???

 

i say no fourth race only in the campaign why ? because its sc guys come on this aint wc

 

I think the Hybrids ARE Xel´naga... isn´t it possible?

 

No it's not possible, in fact, its not even plausible as the Xel'Naga had altered both the Zerg and the Protoss in an attempt to create a perfect race. Thus, if they were already Hybrids they would not need to make a perfect race. So, no, the Xel'Naga are not Hybrids. *Note this is not an attack.

I voted for no more as I will ask you this. Beyond the Xel'Naga and the Hybrids what other races are 1. Knowledgeable enough to be a serious contender in the Koprulu Sector. 2. Advanced enough to be a serious contender. and 3. Where would this third race fit into the whole of things in the Sector. The UED were from Earth thus giving SC a connection to Us. The Dark Templar were the Exiled Rogue Tribes from Aiur and thus are not a new race. Duran and his Hybrids are a mixture of two races created for that purpose and thus was an already established race. The Xel'Naga was the dominant race in the early stages of both Protoss and Zerg development and are all but extinct.

So I ask you, no, I implore you to give a hard and definitive answer as to what race would a new one be and why they are there. More importantly than that. Is it Starcraft?

None of this was an attack. This is my opinion and challenge to the forum browsers at the moment. Note there is no mineral prize if you give me a good solid answer. In fact, there is no prize from me whatsoever save that fact that you will have my respect ,which, you already have. Enjoy ;D

 

Someone so needs to lock this thread since blizz has said repeatedly that there will be NO fourth race in sc2.

 

Blizzard also has said repeatedly nothing is final until release. So, this thread should not be locked at all and continue on.

 

nothing is final to a degree. If they specifically say SOMETHING WILL NOT BE IN THERE. And repeatedly say it? Thats final. You need to interpret as nothing is final as to what type of units there will be, their roles, stats looks. There will be NO fourth race.

 

I'm betting on a campaign race, but not a playable race.

At least the hybrids will probably be in SC2, which constitutes a fourth race, technically, as it is neither protoss nor zerg. I hope the xel'naga are as well. While they may not be a playable race, certain units of theirs will probably appear in the game.

And I hope they use my above design for a playable race

 

I think blizzard is up to the challenge

 

If they do have something like a fourth race it will probably be done like either the Blood elvs where it is just a subset of an existing race or like the naga where you only control them in the campaign. I think the first one is more likeley.

It could work like this Zeratul and Kerriga both stumble upon chabers of hybrids and some allie with them so you have zerg with some campaign only hybrid units and some campaign only hybrids for the 'toss.

 

I do think that there will be no fourth race. However I think we will see special units (Xel'Naga and hybrids) as the Dark Templar were special units at the last mission of SC (the original).

A fourth race would be for the official expansion set, or for SC3 [in 20 years] .

Sincerely I hope that Blizzard will create a fourth race. WC3 has 4 races, so 4 races for SC2 too !

 

Ok i'm very sure that Blizzard will NOT make another race, BUT Blizzard has stated that ANYTHING is subject to change and EVERYTHING can be changed so you really can't say they wont and you can't say they will it's up to Blizzard. second if they did make a 4th race it would only make sense to make it the Xel'nagas because if it was the hybrid they would have to be OP to show how much of a perfect life form they are (I am a Starcraft story line JUNKY btw). The Xel'naga is a perfect choice because in the story line they are not SUPER OP because a huge fleet of them get totally owned by the Zerg. so thats my ideas take em or leave em lol

 

Blizzard will maybe totally change their current SC2. Maybe they will ultimately abandon this project ! And what will be released ? Nothing !

It shows new units does a few zoom-ins. There is a cross between a hydra and a lot, it looks tripped. Zealot but with shoulder blades that pop out etc. Apparently got leaked from inside blizz.

 

I think the xel'naga will be the fourth race, but it wont be playable. You'll just fight against it in a few missions and have it in the map editor.
BTW How is it called now?
