    Really i think this list should be bigger cause it only gave me 50 options so i think maybe 75 great choices would have been good

    Warcraft 3 is my favorite, with Starcraft coming in a close second. Starcraft 2 is sure to break through to number 1, tho.

    I think Starcraft has better conventional gameplay, but I had to make the tough decision to vote for Warcraft 3 just for the better custom games, which I play much more often than traditional maps.

    I think total annihilation should get an honorable mention for sheer scale and variety in units and buildings. Especially with user made content adding hundreds of new unit packs. It was a balance nightmare though if you ever tried to play a competitive match against a good player.

    *sigh* Should have vote Dungeon Keeper 2.... But I vote my favorite "other RTS game" C&C General..... Actually I like SAGE engine ;) Like C&C General, Battle for Middle Earth and Tiberium Wars :)

    Psstt: You should have put C&C in one Category, it much easier :p

    Total Annihilation. Starcraft comes in as a close second but TA tops any RTS game out there with its scale and the amount of support it gets from its creators. I mean when they originally released it they gave a new unit every week, and they still do I believe.

    I'm currently really impressed by Sins of a Solar Empire. Great graphics, 3d battlefields, excellent civ management. However, there is no storyline. After playing a scenario of 10 hours, I want something cool for beating it.

    To bad my own pc is unable to play it, but a friend of mine can. He never cares about strories. How important is a storyline for you guys? Does a rts always need one? Even when you spend most of your time playing skirmish or multiplayer?

    I think it should have a story, sure playing the game is fun and all, It's just that I'd like to know the story behind why in the world I'm killing something.

    Warcraft 3 to me.

    The C&C Series as a whole comes close but not single games, and I just spent too much time with wc3 to consider anything else.

    @Aurora
    Storyline is very important to me. If a game doesn't have one and is only about playing, the game belongs to the arcade.
    Storyline makes also StarCraft awesome. WIthout it it would be like only half of the game and I would have voted for AoE 1. Maybe.

    i chose starcraft,...however i like quite some games from your list, AoE3 is my 2nd choice and Warcraft 3 my 3rd.

    i played warcraft3 with some friends btw. cool levels made by players, i forgot the name, but levels called like "pimp my peon" "warloc" and "the dark road" (just a grasp out of my memory) i really like those! it was so fun! :-D but having lan parties is much more fun than chatting in my opinion :p

    Hey where's company of heroes.. It's the greatest game i've ever played. It was a game of almost pure realism.
