I think Blizz should have their blizzard maps only for their official ladders. But they should have 2 different ladders. Money map and non money map ladders. Because as discussed above both take very different skills to win. And I think some people would be very interested in a money map ladder.

just because u suck at the money maps, you shouldn't hate on them. to me its just another style of Gameplay.

It is all preference. I prefer money maps and enjoy the fast pace/huge battles and i don't have to drag out the economy part of it all and can focus on more unit gameplay.

Some people prefer the slower more tactile play of micro maps like LT or The hunters where every mineral counts. I don't mind playing those either but I admit to spending majority of my time playing Money maps like BGH/FASTEST MAP POSSIBLE.

what makes money maps great too is that later in the game if you lose your main most likely you have accumulated enough resources that u can still survive with an expo and produce units and chip in help your team. as long as you are in a team game of course.

I think a good idea would be to separate the players between the money maps and the players that play the smaller mineral maps.

Like with D2 they have the HC players and the softcore players.

I actually don't suck at money maps, Yes I prefer Lost Temple over them but as I stated above my BEST FRIEND plays them. So don't you think I would play them? I don't play anymore my friend still does, but back in the day ( i'm talking 02-05) I had an account just for money maps at it was just like my friends, about 2k wins and under 200 losses. I felt no challenge.. I was the only one who even do SIMPLE tasks, tasks so simple as walking my dragoons up to a siege tank so they can't hit me nobody else did that. We would take on 2-3, 2-4, on fastest possible we even did a 2-6 ( no rush 15 mins cmon, its 2v6) and we won. ( for the guy who wants replays i will see if he still has that one for you! :D). It just seems like everybody just masses and its a big massing game its just.. pointless and required no effort on my part.

I don't know I have not played Starcraft seriously in about 2 years, maybe it has changed and people have gotten smarter, my friend plays about 20 matches a week and he said it hasn't changed people are still idiots and never learn.

well i have to ask a honest question. in a 2v6 match it seems like the odds a re stacked against u right? so do u think it was because the 6 ppl u 2 were playing against were total noobs? honestly if they did know what they w ere doing there should be no reason 6ppl loose against only 2 ppl unless the 2 ppl were HIGHLY SKILLED. it does take effort and i will aggree that low money maps do require more skill and more strategy then fastest games, but why take fastests games away from ppl that enjoy them just because a few ppl think "they ruin the game" or "only noobs with no skills play fastest maps"? seriously the same can be said about UMS maps but alot of UMS maps take a certain lvl of skill to play. so how is it and why is it ppl always bash fastest players just because they prefer that game setting over a low money game setting?

i enjoy both fastest maps and low money maps, there both fun to play imo. and i hope they have fastest maps on SC2 but that doesnt mean i wont play low money maps either. right now im very good at fastest maps but i suck at low money maps and im trying to get better at low money maps. but i wont stop playing fastest because to me there fun and thats what the game is all about right? SC is not all about being the best and anyone below u is noob just because they dont play low money maps. having fastest maps in SC2 wont hurt anything. casual players will always play UMS maps and fastest maps while the pro gamers or ppl who want to play competivly will always play low money games and blizzard made maps.

so again i ask why so serious?

By all means they can keep fastest maps, My question mostly was are they going to be banned from ladder? I don't think they should add wins to your account like they do now, I'm hopping the matchmaking system is something like war3.

well i dont see a diffrence seeing as ppl stack and fake there wins anyway =/. i can easily play against noobs on low money maps or against comps and stack my wins to like 300 wins and 50 losses or something and ppl will think im pro even tho i suck super hard. so having fastest count against the win/loss ratio or not i doubt it will matter much.

Edit: and whoever the admin is u guys rly have to do something about the "server cannot be found" thing that pops up everytime u try to load this site. its getting very annoying =/

But thats the point, if they follow war3's system there is going to be icons and people are going to be cheating/comp stomping there way to icons, and i bet you if they do icons thers going to be at least 5k win icons..

Maybe not, i hear in sc2 they are fixing the comps, so u wont be stomping comps, they get better as u play wtih them, i read'd somewhere they made comps smarter, able to talk etc... so the comp stomping might of got fixed <shrug> ;)

Yes, you are terribly biased, I'm afraid. The antipathic part of me is actually thinking "Is this guy serious?!!" Hehe. But you got a valid question, I guess.

Imagine the real world by comparison - is it cheating if one army find a cache of Kalashnikovs and use them to save their own bullets? I don't think so. Basically, the problem you're presenting is just void. It doesn't exist, except for those players who are bad at taking advantage of extra resources. People usually complain about the things they suck at, it's just a fact of life - no offence. I've been known to do the same, and I'm grabbing my own neck when I do. It's normal.

Nobody forces you to play on a high-yield map. You're not excluded from the establishment, which you seem concerned about here. There are even tournament rules (or they can be defined) that decide which maps are allowed or not, regardless of the game engine itself and its map editor. Lastly, we can probably conclude that you're not the only one who feels the way you do, which means that you'll still be able to find people of the same philosophy and play moderate-speed games.

Thankfully, there is no single best unit in SC2
