@Overmind. I know about that, but that's way old. Also, they only mentioned the Yamato and Psi Storm as examples, there might be even more cases of Hardened Shields getting ignored, or maybe the Yamato doesn't ignore the shields at all anymore.

    some questions i've had

-just like the zerg in both SC1 and 2 i 'm wondering if you can have a little variety in the units you make, say allow only minor customization either in the editor or in-game, instead of having large amounts of one unit.

@ jasmine: I think that you need to look further into the ways that being verbally abused can be countered in wc3. There is the /squelch [name] command that can be very helpful, and I believe I saw a way to edit curse words, too. Just don't remember where the switch is. I am also sure that Blizzard will include a switch to tone down the gore of the game to make it more friendly to younger children.

@ everyone asking map editor questions: I really wish more of you would have played wc3, as many of the things that you ask about are already done there. You would really be surprised at the way people have been able to create something unique. To answer Shogun's questions, I have never seen the basic shape of a character model changed, but the custom skins that can be loaded make the models look very unique (Tides of Blood has an excellent example of this), I have seen custom weapons though, and custom sounds can be loaded in wc3, I am not sure if they can be attached to characters, though. Most of the downside to all of the custom stuff is that it makes the map much bigger than it needs to be, and taking 5 mins to load can lead to a map becoming unpopular, which is why these features aren't seen in many maps.

All hail Duffman. You are right. :D
One more thing though: you should check project revolution for warcraft 3. Real new models are very possible. It should be in the articles section. And custom sounds are also possible. This mod is also changing hard-coded stuff, but most of it is done in the editor. It really shows us the future of custom maps and mods for sc2. Anything you can think of can be done, although it might be hard to do. Map-editor quistions might be a waste.

I'd be surprised if we have already been told all the different terrain types. On top of that, Karune usually elaborates on the answer, so could talk about almost anything to do with terrain types, like if they can be mixed and matched and whatnot.

Why would they not tell us? Beta's likely to come out extremely soon, and nothing's been said about what specs will be required to actually play it. It's not as though they're really keeping it a secret until the game comes out, either, because everyone with Beta keys will be able to judge.

Basically, not telling us this would be like releasing the final game without revealing the specs.

Perhaps not directly, but we could still be given a ball park. Again, sometimes the idea isn't to ask a question that will be answered directly, but is to ask a question that will be elaborated on. We could still be told a ballpark figure, what they're aiming for, or whether there will be a simple, overall maximum for all game styles.

Also keep in mind that there had to be fifteen questions, so some obviously aren't going to be as great a question as the others.

    Nr. 3:
The information will get leaked when Beta comes, why bother? was what i meant.
Nr 4: Because its not an open BETA and they will probably only give it to the participants (and it will get leaked as soon as BETA comes)
Nr.13: So you want we should use your questions for 3 things we actually dont need the asnwers on, but where we just want them to "talk"? I would prefer better questions then.

Ahh, so you know mean that those 3 questions werent that good?

Almost everything we ask is going to get leaked when beta comes, since we can only ask multiplayer questions. This whole thing is like a preparation.

So what is the timer/countdown then for!?

    That doesn't answer my question...

In wc3, you had to create a skin/model yourself using art programs, and then import them to your map. Its a long and difficult process, and some of the skins and models you would import would take up a lot of room, very inconviant since wc3 b.net only supports hosting maps under 4 megabytes. My question to blizzard is will there be a feature in the editor that allows you to alter the limbs and carried weapons, perhaps swiping them with existing limbs/weapons, of units you create or edit. This would make things SO much more simple and easy then having to go through the hassle of creating something from near scratch.

My point is, such a feature doesn't already exist in world editor, so my question is valid.

    **EDIT**
Perhaps a better question would be, "What features are available for Starcraft 2's editor that allows editors to make changes to pre-existing models?"

Enlighten me if this has already been answered:

With the new macro mechanics(Mule etc.) is the double gas shutdown mechanic going to be removed?

To ShoGun: That has also -partially- been awnsered. What we know for sure: colouring of seperate unit parts, not the whole model as in wc 3. -example: you could not make a rainbow coloured infernal with the war3 editor, but you can with the sc2 editor- Weapons and all that stuff: not sure. Like Itza said already: Dustin tells more then you ask him to. This is actually a very good quistion.
