does anybody else think terran air is weak?

there are vs all mixed units or unmixed some other good units^^this is the problem

 

No group is good unmixed if that's what you're asking. You need some variety, otherwise they'll hit on a snag and conquer your mad force.

 

On paper scouts do rock... as long as you smudge out the high cost.

And I think zerg air is the strongest. They've got a ground pounded (guardian), an all purpose/harasser (mutalisk), an anti air support unit (devourer), and a suicidal bomb (scourge)

 

yeah, zerg rule the skies.

 

However, with the phoenix, they won't anymore because all zerg air is light air and light air will be destroyed by overload.

 

Zerg air is by far the most annoying form of air...but then again it gives me an excuse to use the good ol' valkyries

 

exactly, valkyries ate up zerg air. Which, tying this back into the topic's title, is one reason why terran air is not weak. And why valkyries don't suck.

I'd bet anything that if they bring back the devourer the'll give it a shorter cool down and maybe a cooler attack...I meen come on, who here has ever looked at a devourer attack and been like: ...(criket sound)

we'll visually I'm sure they will make it better but I doubt they would shorten to cooldown unless they adjust other things.

 

Terran air isn't weak, however it is not utilized half of the time because of the time and resources it takes to get to them. I believe Terran have the second best air. Zerg beats them hands down by speed. Wraiths are good but they aren't the dominant air unit.

Everybody has pointed out, valks and BCs rule the skies. But, what I think everyone failed to mention is that they take quite a bit of time to get a sufficient amount of them on the battlefield and a fair amount of resources to maintain that army.

 

terran air isnt weak, like limabeanmage. u just hafto have these units in sky battalions. if u attack in clusters youll be sure to dominate

 

you dominate anyway if you attack in clusters with any race!

 

terran needs an attack helicopter-like unit with mini guns and rockets for air -to- ground but no anti-air attack that way you could mass them with valkyries and still have a reseonable attack force.

 

i like the idea of the helecopter with the air to ground missles but it sounds too low tech for terrans, i mean c'mon, a helecopter!? it better be cool looking at least, because there would be no use for a helecopter if jet fighter such as the wraith could stop on a dime. but yea terran need a good air unit for ground that can be accessed earlier. also, when a pheonix overloads does it only attack air?

 

I liked the Devourer attack.

Nobody messes with big globs of acid.

On topic though, the Terran air is very powerful. Cloaked Wraiths for ambushes and harassment while Valkyries clean up anything in their way.

 

I actually had an idea like this a while back on a different thread, I called it the Terran Praetorian.

 

how about that unit from the cinematic, that was helicopterish except more of an advanced VTOL craft

i actually forgot about the thing in the cins that is helicopter-like but not primitive.
