    *edit* flesh, IIRC they removed the coat of arms a while back. You're looking at old SS' i think.

    That's because the shield and bayonet are upgrades where as Tychus was getting suited up in just the basic, "classic" marine gear.

    Anyway I see nothing wrong with either upgrade. A shield provides extra protection and the bayonet is good against melee happy zerlings and zealots.
