i think the 'buy' mechanic has been misinterpreted. Isnt it supposed to be that once you 'buy' that unit, you start with a couple of them and are unlocked on your tech tree, not actually buying single units eg 5 vikings.

I'm pretty you buy it, it unlocks the unit on the tech tree. Thats basically how they explained it aswell.

As I said before, Dark Crusade had a similar campaign to this and it worked very well, so I have high hopes for it.

That was my understanding. I think that you get credits for completing missions and secondary objectives that are spent unlocking the tech tree.

The mission style is something i really like about sc2.
And to clear some misconceptions: you could if you wanted too just zip through teh campaigne without moving onto the side missions as the new story mode is mainly designed to give the player more info on sc lore. However i must note your most likely going to have to to at least some of the side missions to get money for buying new unit types.

I wonder if u could buy the older now "defunct" units from sc1 in sc2 if you don't have enough cash money. Like say you can't afford vikings can you buy goliath's? muahahahaha probably not.

but seriously, the new terran campaign style is great i love the flexibility it gives you and, i'm curious to see what the equivalent of buying units is in the protoss and zerg campaigns. Imagine if you play artanis on a protoss carrier? woo that'd sick. And imagine if you play kerrigan inside of an ... overlord's ... ventricular sacs? rofl ugh gross. maybe not.

(actually it would be cool if some renegade terran groups still had old units)

If you play on easy difficulty you probably don't have to sweat it much about maxing out the cash for new units/upgrades, but if you go hardcore I think the extra units will come in handy.

I think the new campain could be used to create a nice galactic conquest multiplayer mode were you travel with your fleet building bases on worlds and battling other players on other worlds this would be great training in tech trees and whatnot and you could have massive ammounts of minerals from all your outposts on other worlds and what when there attacked your view goes to that outpost.

^ that would be rather hectic. I always liked to think that too seradin, of galactic conquest, and actually building on your achievements, but the human factor leads to its instability. I mean you never know when a person is or isnt going to be available.

it wouldnt be that hard sikhye23, they could create games where each player controls several worlds, the game can start on a neutral planet as standard mellee, but then when that map is over the winning player gets to choose which planet to attack next. the only advantage a player gets for owning a planet is a couple of starting structures when the map begins. considering each game of sc2 is supposed to take around 20 minutes, if there were only 3-5 planets it would only take only 1.5 hrs for a long match.

i think it could work amongst a small circle of friends who know each others time schedule's, but i mean it wouldn't work if there are like 100 players and 200 planets, with games going on 24/7 with some players unavailable to answer someone else's attack.

I just want to ask if every races in single player campaign, has a diffrent ways, i mean like the Terran campaign that they present to us it a kind of buying or purchasing do you think protoss and Zerg has other designs also, because the Terran are in the Hyperion design right well is it the Protoss and the Zerg has a diffrent one? if that is the case wow i cannot imagine to go inside the ganthrotor.

I'd like to see the protoss or zerg campaigns. I think it'll look awsome.
