Since I'm having to relearn the basics, yes I will sometimes play against the comp on Battle.net

One of my best friends and I play against computer teams all the time. We're not serious enough Starcraft players that we like playing against other people; in other words we are lazy and don't want to play on anything but a relaxed pace hahaha...

So a lot of times I'll go over his house, we'll set up a game, and play while hanging out. We are slowly increasing the number of computer players... we can now consistently beat four, soon to be five.

Lol, me and one other person has survived for an hour againsts 6 cpu's on LAN. After that the lag was pretty sweet and we got owned.

But have you guys noticed that the cpu's play style varies due to its colour? I noticed blue is the most annoying and usually survives last if you do something like a 8 player FFA

Sometimes I play against the computer and sometimes I play with friends against the computer 2 vs 3 and 3 vs 5. I think bout playing against the computer and checking out replays to see why you did or didn't beat them does help you get better in the game. It also gives you choice to try out things. It helped me get used to playing the game again. My only problem when I first started playing is how it always seem to know what you're doing, and the way their initial rushes are will changed base on what you are doing. I also hate how they seem to be able to do multiple things at once. The computer can be hard to beat. I know we've been playing 2 vs 3 and 3 vs 5 with all the computer players being zerg and it can be difficult on both regular maps and space ones.

I usually get sick and tired of losing every game vs humans, so computers make me feel better.

I usually can't find human players, so I end up playing computers. I've heard that in a multiplayer game the computer is better, is that true?

I occasionally do it with some friends. But I really can't stand the noobs who make "ZOMG 7 VS 1 COMP STOP!!". It's just completely pathetic that they're that desperate for wins.

I hate playing against the AI.

The AI in Starcraft always knows where you are and what you do, always attack your weakest places first, and then focus stupidly on your toughest defenses.

To me playing online against or with the AI doesn't make any sense to me. Online and AI in the same sentence makes not much sense actually.

The AI opponents are just good to me when you want to practise in a solo game, to test some micro tactics, or when you play with friends who are not good and who don't want to play (again) against you.

The whole point with the Starcraft AI, in melee games I mean, is to survive the first rush: if you do, you will win. It will be a looooonnnnng and boring game most of the time, but you will win.

Playing with and against people is the whole point of the game to me: the AI always knows where you are and what you do, and always do the same tactics, so unless you are dumb or are confirming some theorycraft, or don't have any internet connection nor friends around at the moment, I don't see any point into playing with AI opponents.

2vs6 is fun on LAN. You have to cooperate with your buddy 100% of the time. Playing 2vs6 with a stranger is sometimes annoying because you can't trust a stranger really to defend you. Playing with a friend is fun though!

i would probably play a comuter battle on Battle.net every 8 games. i tend to like the action of a human vs human game instead. because in a computer game either is comp stomp where you dont have time to make 10 marines and go in because 3 other people are already attacking, or is nr 20 and the computer attacks you while you slowly build battlecruisers to kill the comp....you oculdve kiled it 15 minutes ago.

    there fun....but not that fun.

I share the same feelings. Ai = Singleplayer.

However, AI and weak don't have to be in the same sentence. The fine folks at BroodWarAi.com have spent nearly half a decade making Starcraft computers more challenging. If you want to experience a new melee computer then stop in.
