Different coloured psi blades and auras

I think the change in color is very nice. I found that a lot of the Protoss in the first one were not all that different looking from one color to the next. This on the other hand makes the team a lot more evident and makes a different look for each color (like Zerg form SC1), I say bravo Blizzard.

 

I am hoping black is a player color because onxy pylons would rock

Imagine if the archons changed color for your team. That would be strange... and awsome! In SC1 The only thing telling you an archon was yours would be that those little things around it.

 

I could always tell my archons apart 'cause they pwned everyone else

 

Hehe and what about the really strange coloured archons Cheddar? Would you like to have pink ones? I think they would comitt suicide

 

Or kill the zerg and terrans by throwing fabulous tea parties and entertaining them to death. Sike, no matter the color, the archons will still kick ass. Lots of ass. I would perfer blue, but hey, that's just me, let the people color their archons how they want to.

Archons are psionic entities. They don't have gender at all. They're just a pure, concentrated mass of psionic energy.

 

but they are formed from High Templar which seem to be predominantly, if not exclusively, male. Therefore, the gender of their two creators (? I don't know what term to use for that) are male. So by default if they have a gender, it is male.

 

So if a femal and male templar merge do you get a hermaphrodite?

 

Not necessarily. The High Templar are sacrificed to summon the Archon, which technically means they're dead. You can't really have any gender when you're a psionic entity either because gender is used to propagate the species. Archons don't propagate themselves.

 

How do you know this?

Well we don't actually know how Protoss reproduce.

 

I don't think that they propagate themselves. However, the minds/spirits(?)/energy of the two templar are male. If you're going to assign these beings gender (which is a dubious proposition) then it would be male. That's what they're created from. The essences of the two minds are male.

Sex is the physical manifestation which allows for sex which passes on genes.
Gender is actually a self concept. It is a way in which people see themselves. Gender and physical sex can be separated and can be different. It is actually consider a psychiatric disorder (even though most people who considered themselves the opposite of their physical sex don't believe that it is).

That is according to my class on brain and behavior.

Binary fusion. On that grounds that it would be awesome.

 

I was talking about how Archons don't reproduce, not how Protoss don't reproduce. Protoss have to reproduce, since they're not immortal and they're constantly under attack.

 

Um yeah so String that middle sentance can't be any more ambiguous.
