well, it's an idea... but even so, they must come up with some time lag for these bodies. if nobody's planning to use these bodies, are you really just going to leave it there? maybe they should adopt a warcraft principle... if you're not going to use these corpses within this time, too bad for you, it's gonna disappear.

Maby the bodys will turn into Doodads to make it less lagy. Doodads are backround modles and decorations, with almost no use, incase you didn't know.

cool idea, but not really balanced, or worth putting into the game in my opinion. It looks good the way it is, stuff like this is just confusing and hard to deal with, and usually overpowered. check into command and conquer, special abilities ruined that game.

I dunno....It would look really cool if you managed to kill a late game Zerg Rush....All those bodies carpeting the ground.....And maybe they could have a Zerg ability where they eat the corpse and regain health.....Wait a second there.....

Wouldn't they just be sprites? Same principle just thats what they were in SC1.
I can see making too many bodies will be problematic, in SC 1 my computer couldn't handle some maps because of the amount of units in the game, while I'll get a much better computer before SC2 comes out I'm sure others would find the same thing with the dead bodies. Also it could make things difficult because of expanding etc. Its not going to be easy to see where you can build a pylon with some cannons for instance with a mass of zergling bodies in the way of where you can build. However if you can maybe change that to a setting in a map maker then that could be alright in making rpgs and other genres.

I think the death animation of the marines is cool, but I also like the animation of reapers. Their boosters fly up into the air and then explode ;D. But the reaper animation does change, if you look at the last reaper to die for instance. The zerglings so far as I can see just explode with blood, or a spray of blood hides whats happened to the body. Zealots Seem to die the same as far as I can tell, BC have 2 explosions, 1 small one followed by one that breaks the BC up. The animation of the 2nd explosion does change. I think overall dead unit should be taken off the field.

Just looking at the gameplay vid again and I see an interesting thing on the menu of the phase prisms. The command for setting down into a pylon shows as costing 2 population. However I could not confirm this as it does not change the population in the top right. I'm thinking demo priveleges.

Also has anyone noticed the weird red text that appears over the black hole just b4 it's cast? Don't think its there in the game but not sure.

    Lol like undead in WC3?

wud b nice havin bodies remain in sc2
quite a few games hav alrdy used dis concept like total annihilation, wc3, dawn of war, supreme commander, and has worked lik wonders =)
howeva in sc2, mite make burrowed units a bit dificult 2 spot
n dis feature shud obviously not apply 2 ragdoll physics-based units (buildings, flyers), dat wud rly test ur comp's performance lol

DoW still easily takes da trophy 4 death animations imo ^^
(force commander smashing da bloodthirster ftw? xD)

I notice zealots have different ways to attack too (at least 2) from the gameplay video.

Also when marines die they often blow up in half with the upper half fly somewhere (it stand out so much as all of the sudden something big blew up but it ends up only a marine died...)~

They would fall for it a second time because it could just un-burrow, move, and burrow again.

erm, i think you've got it wrong. that's a reaper blowing up. marines die with the blood and everything, i think. at least i think i remember. but for the upper half flying off somewhere, i'm quite sure it isn't a marine dying, it's a reaper.
