    lol the new mothership changes sucked :powerdown: now it is only a huge arbiter :p


    and when its name is "mothership" i would expect it to be unique,not some flying thor with a nonfitting name.

    right, the protoss tech tree sucks. its so simple and boring.

    the terrans has cooler and complicated tech tree.

    well i know blizz will change it (protoss) or else..

    THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT I WANTED! i bet blizzard saw my EXACT post and said, wow we should do that. Thank you for the carrier, thank you for the TA, thank you for the warp ray not being cap ship... but eh, no more reaver? i guess no more drops then.

    I would have to agree with you here, but i believe i have a way to balance it. Remember in the old days when the nukes were a'comen there would be a "nuclear launch detected" and if you were smart you would look for the red dot and move out of the way.

    my idea is that you should have the same thing here, but more like first a graphical effect created as the dark hole is made, giving them time to "run away", though this time would be a matter of seconds, maybe no more than the nuke as well. i would do the same thing as the planet cracker would start to "energise" you would see the fortress starting to "target" the area...
    i do like the new change for the planet cracker though, alot of lasers seemed stupid and not have the ability to penetrate, but one big laser would seem like the force to crack anything.


    as for the feedback ability, i can could on one hand how many times i used that power, but mind you i used zerg much more than protoss(FOR THE SWARM)

    in the end those are my two gripes

    The battlecruiser is now what it would seem from the various cinematics. Have you seen the multiple lasers in action? They are amazing! The video I watched showed two of them cut down about 25 marines in about 2 seconds. The lasers bombarded them in every meaning of the word. I never used BCs in SC1, because they were too expensive for the little they did. BCs are now SOO worth getting. I don't care the cost, I am making a nice sized army of them. They probably have a major weakness(air?) to outweigh the awe inspiring ground attack.
    All that and I never even mentioned the Yamato Cannon or the Plasma Turrets. That's a whole 'nother rant about awesomeness.

    the plasma turrets (or torpedoes depending on where you hear it) is that bombard. their normal attack is a bunch of quick lasers at one target.

    Yeah, you're right. I found the same video again, only this time is had commentary. That cleared it up. Still I'm largely impressed. I love the plasma turrets, but I thought you could only choose that OR Yamato Cannon. In that video I'm pretty sure I saw the same one use both. Maybe that's just for display purposes?

    no, there were 4 BCs, two had turrets, two had yamato.

    What now? Are we limited of having to decide between Ground AOE goodness and our trusty Yamatoyomoya fun cannon blasts? Laaaameeeeeee!!!!!!!!!

    As for mother ship, I'm very bummed about those guys, since i was soo looking forward to lack hole of destruction :p

    And am i the only one who finds Reaper history very interesting? I'm curious of how Blizzard came to the idea of the unit, seems like a more hardcore marine ^^

    Very surprised about all these changes.

    I know we could get some changes in this blizzcon, but I do not consider it should change some much.
    I agree with most of you. Especially on the changes of Protoss.

    The mothership should be keeped as the ultimit unit I think.If mothership goes like Thor, then Protoss will not be protoss in SC2. In SC1, Protoss was attacked by both Terran and Zergs, but the Protoss hero killed Overmind by himself and saved his people. This kind of hero-typed race should have some hero typed units. Mothership has some powful abilities, while developers can alter some parameters to ballance, not just cutting off all these fantistic ideas.

    Reavers is the early game unit for Protoss, while the Colossus is for the late game. If they axed reavers why not also axe Siege Tank, for Thor is also the late game units have the overlaped functions with Tanks. Maybe Blizzard is thinking to change Reaver into another unit, while I have thought a lot, I have no ideas how to modify it. Keep it maybe a good choise.

    I do not know how all this infor come from, if all this are true. I think we should make a poll to express our opinions on all these issues

    I personally dont think the removal of the reaver is that big of an issue. When I think Protoss i think of the Templar, both high and dark, Archons, Carriers, and Zealots. Those units are what truly made Protoss who they were. Im awaiting to see what unit will fill the Reavers spot tho *crosses fingers*

    I agree about the comments made about the Protoss Mothership. It should be a unique unit (of sorts) in that a player can only field one unit at a time on the battlefield. It should not be able to cloak ground units (leave that to another specialized air (and energy casting) unit), and it should indeed be the badass of Protoss air units. (just a little better than Carriers)

    Here's a thought, why not have a special Mothership for the Protoss campaign? Have it as Artanis' flagship or the flagship of the fleet or whatever (and having such briefings in such a vessel), whilst making it generic for multiplayer melee etc maps. :)

    the mothership is probably going to be removed, the protoss fleet has no need for it.

    From the sounds of the cooldown rapid build reaper thing it reminds me of hiring the mercenaries in WC3, where a limited number are available instantly, but after that limit there's a cooldown period. Although it'd probably be really rapid building rather than instantaneous, but you get my meaning hopefully...I like that idea. Everything was pretty good, except (of course) the whole Mothership dilemma. The black hole was awesome! Also, in regards to the archon...yes it does need feet, and I don't know about the feedback thing...I love the idea of being able to merge ht/ht or ht/dt or dt/dt, but i think the feedback ability should be available only to archons derived from at least one dt. Maybe there should be 3 subtly different forms of archon, depending on the templar combinations (maybe diferent abilities, or different ratios of hit point to shield, or something like that). But all up, a good summary!

    Maybe reavers are not cool as templars, while Protoss army is composed of templars and robots. Reaver is one of robots. Robots are one part of Protoss society.So we should look them equal as templars. I also hope they could bring some new robotic units to fill in. Reavers is the only units attack with the bomb that can follow its targets. Maybe blizzard can bring an air bomber with the same attacking manner, that would be fun.

    The Mothership was awsome, I personaly liked the idea of the single Mothership. :bad: to Blizzard for that one.

    eah the mothership was great, but ....i guess i can live. Im going to miss the reavers tho, no more good drops =/

    Great summary it told me a lot of things about SC2 an i really agree with your comment about the change for the Mothership it is worst change in SC2, it's too much like the Thor's kind of style
