I think the dark Templar's have that big scythe because i heard somewhere that they are more frontline warriors now like zealots then the SC1 dt ninjas (couldn't come up with any better name on them lol)

thats prob why they dont have cloak all the time now

Yes a poll would be good.

I like the scythe though it could be a little longer/held out further. They don't seem to have as much reach sa they used to

DTs have the warp blade for the same reasons they have the armor. The races have a lot more detection(at least the terran) and now they need to be able to protect them selves, which is what the solid stick would do, it would block on coming slashes, unlke a warp blade, that would just slice right through it. Of course then you don't need to protect yourself, but until you undestand how fast and expert can utilize a bo staff, you really can't say its slow and awkward

it will be if there is a big piece of metal shaped like a banana sticking out on each end, making it cumbersome to wield and easy to hurt self if not careful

Yeah animation is the stupidest part... Lol, anyways, Bnech have you seen the relative length of the staff? It's really the same length as a regular staff a martial arts expert would use, atleast relatively to the Dt's height. You're not considering the zealots and their armor they have a lot of armor, but they can run pretty fast. So Why should the staff be any heavier? I'm pretty sure Dt's are strong enough, seeing they do so much friggin damage in SC1.

if DT use blades then theyl look the same as zealots, i reckon just modifying the scythe a little would be enough.

Are you kidding me? No they won't. They would use one like in the Original. Even then they would be cloaked!

Cloaked units now have a blue glowing outline on them, instead of being just faded. So yes, it will be pretty hard to distinguish at times.

the original animation looked like they had a scythe. They cant get the same effect in 3d, so the animation will be closer to zealots than sc1 dt.

Yea they did look like a scythe. It didn't go straight, it curved downwards,

I thought Dt's weren't going to be used as assassins AS MUCH anymore, because of all of the detectors Terrran have and the desperation? That's probably the reason for the armor, and the warp scythe helps defend from attacks much better than the curved warp blade they had in SC1

I would argue more, but you guys are going for aesthics and not reason or lore, so whatever

hmm, well by that logic, we shouldn't try to assign a weapon till the game comes out. We don't truly know what their role will be till we get our hands on it.

I just don't want the same thing to happen to the DT that happened to the Spellbreaker from WCIII. I don't want a unit that is in full armor and carries a tower shield and a huge glaive to be a ranged spell caster, but instead an elite combat unit. Same thing goes for the DT. If the Dt role is assassination then it needs to appear to be sneaky, and not a tin can. Until I see proof that it is now a front line warrior( or even half of the time) I want the DT to maintain its old, sneak up and assassinate mystic.
