Dark Templar Weapon

Personally, I think the cloak should be larger, darker and cover more. That way he looks a lot more sneaky as he creeps up to his enemy. Then he pulls his arm out of cloak and ignites his HUGE psiblade. It could be curved or cerated or something. The thing is, the DT attack does 5x more than a zealot, the blade should reflect this.

 

I miss the blades too, the sound effect was so DT... not so much anymore.

 

it's not only a scythe, it's a double scythe, making it totally cumbersome to use and does not fit the role of dark templar at all, i mean when have you seen an assassin wielding a double handed sword. the old warp blade is much better

 

assasin's usually use a stilleto sword combi

 

exactly, they use light, swift weapons, not a cumbersome ones like a double ended scythe which can be categorized as a pole-arm

I will start first by saying i havnt read most of this thread but i have read enough to get the jist of it.

This argument is pointless because it is just an aestetics argument because whether a DT is using is fists or a bastard sword made out of pure energy he is still going to do 40 damage or whatever is determined by balance. As for the aestetics argument it all comes down to personal opinion anyway and unless there is a major outcry against the looks of the weapon its gonna stay how blizzard wants it to look.

But just in case anyone is curious i believe the DTs should use a more sword like weapon over the current dual scythe.

 

Perhaps we need to think outside the box. Instead of using a weapon, the DT can sneak up to a unit and rip its spinal cord out. I have no clue how it would work on vehicles, but it would be amazing!

That or a psi dagger with a handle made of Zerg bone..I guess that would work too....

 

Only as visual effects, though. No impact on gameplay. I want this game to be gory. Like DoW gory.

 

I would be fine with the scythes if they weren't so short. The warp blade was a long weapon, long and dangerous. The current art doesn't make them seem nearly as dangerous.

 

How about a compromise

Think Darth Maul and double bladed lightsabre. Granted, it would be a totoal rippoff but I think psi blades are already a ripoff of lightsabers anyway to why not go the extra step and give DT's double bladed warp blades.

 

or rather, a dual scythe that separates into two single scythes. just think, you do a sideways slash, then you separate the back side (which is bloody useless facing the wrong way, unless he plans on spinning it) and take it in your other hand, then you do another slash with both weapons. maybe attach them with a chain inside.

 

I'm sorry to say but without the Graphics there is no Gameplay.. And it is not a small thing they changed! But I will make sure that someone models a Psi Blade when I make my own map but whethere you like the scytheX2 is up to you.
