I voted both, but taking out from a gameplay perspective (as also posted on battle.net) having two different models could be a bit problematic, but actually shouldnt be a problem when the dark templer is so special (invis)?! I still think its a bit wierd with different models for one unit, so out from a gameplay perspective: the guy with the scytsche (or how its spelled)!

Offtopic: Perhaps if anyone is intrested we should have a guy or some guys who are posting often / checking battle.net forums for news etc. to get a kind of newsmanagment job!? I thanked both of you that we get the discussen, perhaps just in an other post?

Perhaps we should make out own poll here to see if we agree with those "idiots" from battle.net?

  2. I'll give Joneagle the option to turn this into a poll and the other topic as well. If it doesn't turn into a poll soon I'll make my own.

Remember, it's 40x2, since there are two blades. Imagine if Zeratul had two blades...100x2 damage :twitcy:

I am not reading too far into things, that's just you assuming I was. Another thing you assume is that my post was directed personally at you, which it wasn't. I did not post right after you, nor did I start off with an "@Tychus". It was simply directed at all the people who have said stuff like "Kinda late... but...." in response to an article by Jon. There's been plently of those kinds of posts, you're not the first one.

No, that's not what you said. That's what you meant. What you said was "Kinda late... But....".
That's easy to misinterpret. But, it doesn't matter at all whether I misinterpreted what you said or not, because as I said before, this was not solely directed at you and others have indeed meant that Joneagle was slow on news, without realizing that the extra thread Jon has to make is the one that is turned into an article because the initial thread acknowledging the news is in no shape to be submitted as one (correct me if I am wrong about this part Jon).

If you think Jon is late on the news front, feel free to make that article yourself. That is directed at people who say stuff like "Kinda late... But...." meaning that Jon should keep up the pace. If that's not what you meant, don't sweat.

I've never seen the "how to post an article" thread.

  6. @Gasmaskguy: My post was to clarify; not to point fingers. I do believe you were reading too far into things but that's only because I know what I meant. I can see very clearly how you thought what you did now that I reread my post and yours. I didn't pick-up on that as I was typing so, yes, it is my fault. I know that I wasn't clear because I typed hastily while waiting for friends on Battle.net. I'm sorry for the confusion hence why my post was written in a way to clarify; not to place blame. Now, back on topic please :)

-- But, as far as your whole "do it yourself" statement, it's a bit like saying "If you don't like Blizzard's games then go make a better game" or "Don't complain when Blizzard does something you don't like if you can't do better yourself". I am not a moderator here or have any stock or benefit from posting news here. Other than losing a great community, I am not worried about the welfare of this site. So, why would it make a difference if I think someone here isn't doing their job? My government is doing somethings I don't like but that doesn't mean I can or should spend the rest of my life fixing it. I'm not saying Joneagle isn't do his job, please don't misunderstand. I think he's doing a great job and I am not in anyway saying I don't respect him. I'm just saying it's not our job and your logic is flawed.

I hope you understand what I mean Joneagle :) Keep up the good work!

@Tychus. No problem. I felt like posting that anyway since other people have complained... but then comes the whole "do it yourself" logic part. :p
See, Blizzard have the resources to make awesome games. Of course it would be silly to say "Don't complain when Blizzard does something you don't like if you can't do better yourself". We don't have the resources to do that. Comparing yourself to the goverment is the same; you don't have the same resources.

But we're talking about submitting articles here. You write and paste a couple URL's, then press a button. That is indeed something everyone can do. Jon doesn't submit articles in a special way.

  8. But why? What do I gain? It's another person's job. They get paid/respected for that. It's like someone paying me 15$ to do a job and then I have someone else do all my work for 10$. Also, just like politics and making games is another person's job, running a forum/community/website is not my job; but another person. You missed my point. Basically, until I'm getting to go to Blizzard Conventions VIP-style like StarCraft 2 Forum admins do, I'm not going to do the job of a StarCraft 2 Forum admin. NO MORE OFF-TOPIC!!!!

Again, Joneagle, please don't misunderstand. I'm not saying you don't do your job. I'm just debating the logic of Gasmaskguy's statement. I think you're doing an awesome job :)

    No wai.

Where does it say that Jon's job here on the forum is to submit articles? It's most definitely not his job as he would never do it if others did it for him. He wouldn't go "hey stop stealin' mah jobs!".

Jon doesn't get payed AFAIK, and I don't think he feels that unrespected. :p

Why do you even care anyway? You've never complained about Jon being slow on news, so nothing I said in my first post was directed at you.

  10. I don't care whose job it is. It's not mine. I would be doing someone else's job if I did submit news. Now, please, stop. There's no reason to reply to this because I'll ignore it and if it's about this off-topic nonsense again, I'll just have to ignore list you :( And, I don't want to do that because you're a good poster.

Have a good day :) See you around the forums.

-- Also, it's in my nature to argue :( if you want to know why I "care"

Of course there is! I reply so that I can adress your new points given. If you really did not want to argue about this, you wouldn't have written those first 3 sentences. Those are part of our argument.

Are you threatening me so that you can have the last word? Well go ahead and ignore list me, it's you missing out on the good posts.

Feel totally free not to submit articles. Heck, I am not doing it either. I am just telling whiny people that they can submit articles as fast as Jon if they wanted (still, not forcing them either). But since you're not whining about it, chill. :)

Well, this is a forum, so that can be good to have in the blood. Keep posting, being active and not least arguing.

Ha, can't argue about me. i recently submitted an article, the Question and Answers Batch.

As for the Dark Templar models, I voted for both. However, I would prefer this:

Use the unit model for the Lenassa Tribe, but give the double-bladed scythe to them. I like the idea of a double bladed scythe, and it looks cool as well. But I just don't like the unit models and portrait for the Zer'atai. Also, as someone said in a post before me, I think it may be a bit awkward or even problematic to have different models of the same unit. They would need to both have the exact same stats and attacking speed. The two different models of weapons may differ in attacking speed as well.

The lenassa is so much better, both at random would be kinda weird and unclean.

    ^agree completely.

It doesn't seem right with random models.

maybe being chooseble in a 'preference' section?

  20. I think Blizzard should severely gimp one of them so that every time that version of the Dark Templar is randomed into play the player knows they are pwned. That would be awsome for an eSport!!!
