Crucio Siege Tank - as good as its predecessor?

You know what I just realized? instead of percentages of damage reduction, it's bonuses in numbers. This means that it might be 40+40 for withut upgrades in siege mode, but with upgrades, it'll be 47+40. NOOOO Unless the bonuses go up with every upgrade, units are at a loss, damage wise. Anyways, I love the power in the assault mode. I hope it's still much better in siege mode, though. More range, more damage, crazier splash, and more cooldown is what I want compared to the arclite. In assault mode, I hope it's a bit slower, more damage, same cooldown, and maybe less range. Then it'll really matter whether you siege or unsiege. Two completely different roles depending on whether you siege it or not. It can be a support unit or a base defender. A siege unit or a head on attacker.

I really like a siege unit rather then a mass unit killer. then, the firebat could have a role as a mass unit killer. A good idea I saw was to mkae the siege mode missile fall a second or half second after the tank shoots. Then, moving units wouldn't be hit except for the back, and buildings would always be hit. Any thoughts?

Well, massing Siege Tanks (even before researching Siege Mode) with Vultures and a bit of Infantry was easy and incredibly effective in SC I, altough seen rarely. Thankfully in SC II it'll be more common way to knock out your enemy.

 

Carriers+Arbitor+Scouts= Terran GG hehe

 

Not with scv´s massing turrets ALL over the place (so no recall).

 

arbiter+halucinate+recall= GG other player.

But we're getting off topic. I think the crucio is an excellent replacement for the arclite, and I look forward to using it.

 

Crucio Siege Tank VS Arclite Siege Tank

What do you think is better? Currently, I think the Arclite Siege Tank is better. It looks way smaller than the beefed up Crucio. Also, compared to the 120mm cannon, the Arclite looks as though it has a bigger hit radius than the Crucio... Maybe its just my biases opinion affecting that assumption =\

Nonetheless, what do you think is better? =P

A poll is always handy though, merging them would be the best.

 

Right now i am very happy with the Crucio tank, starting to look very cool, i mean this IS SC2

 

i think that the crucio tank is better overall but i like the name of the old SC1 tank much better

 

IMO the crucio is 100x better than the old terran tank. xp

 

I like the "not tank" mode better and i like its fast attack! (I also like its bonus against Mech, but still being able to one hit marines )

X shape is absolutely better than ... er there's no icon to describe the arclite shape,but it look stupid

 

I like the new one, its what a siege tank should be.
A giant ball of steaming, shiny iron. Roaring across the battlefield with whizzing shrapnel everywhere around. Then a moment of quiet and suddenly suspicious noise of metal parts recombining and - BOOM. A sea of gigantic explosions like from very bad, very expensive action movie about alien bears with fiery lasers shooting from their eyes. Dangerously loud noise of the soil undergoing nuclear fusion and boiling flesh of the opponent getting sprayed around. Let the hell be unleashed upon the world.

Not some flimsy little tank which shoots and all that happens is little *puff* and a flag with the word "gotcha" slides out of the barrel escorted with tidal laughter of the opponent. On top of that, when you throw piece of rock at it it explodes and magically disappears before your eyes sucking all the debris out of the dimension into some kind of magical world of pink fairytales.. I mean come on! Its a TANK! Its supposed to withstand some damage!

the new crucio tank might be better, considering the armor and fire upgrade for assault mode but it all boils down to cost, issit gonna be too costly? cause i would rather cheap, powerful artillery. who cares if its weak, no one is gonna touch it with marines swarming and stimming around :X note i said artillery, not a tank .

then again the new crucio tank could create a new strategy for terrans, marines could fall back and let the crucio do some tanking but...would prolly never let them out front to clear the path. another possible strategy is to let the crucio tank take some dmg, run away when it's dying and help out in siege mode as the scvs repair. who knows

 

Trust me, with this beauty in you hands you will be satisfied with just a couple of them stored in you backyard. Besides Terran has now more artillery than ever, BCs are actually useful now, you have the banshee and ofcourse your beloved transformer ripoff Thor.
