They should definitely have at least 1 type of aggresive critter
*beginning base gets invaded my mad space-cows and destroyed*

  2. Or maybe they all could be violent and ambush you when your not expecting it in Single player mode or as an option for multiplayer. It would add a twist to the whole critter thing and they wouldnt be helpless prey making the game a little more challenging and fun. The critters could be something we could all learn to hate and despise together as one big online community, and as soon as i've lulled you into a false sense of security, i can betray you mercilessly and shank you while your back is turned.

There shouldn't be any aggressive critters. It completely destroys the competitiveness of the game. If the campaigns needed some kind of attack on your base, they would use normal units.

You have to remember though, the war between the 3 factions rage across many worlds. SO what happens to the natives that get caught up in the middle? Do they just sit there while a foreign war is being fought on their soil, or do they get involved? Maybe they just defend themselves? Maybe there not intelligent enough to do anything? These are the thing you must think of when making critters. I could possibly see a few races that are semi intelligent that at least defend themselves.

Actually its not quite so Shadow T.( Which, is far too close to my name for my own comfort. Stay out of my Bubble!) ,anyways, the battles that happen in the Koprulu Sector is mainly confined to the Terran, Protoss and Zerg. The other creatures( Critters.) are all but fodder in the War as the Sector has no other actual civilized race to our knowledge or any other I am quite sure.

Also Welcome to the Forum. Seems we have a large amount of new people coming in. Welcome!

I think Shadow Templar #1 has a point, you see dogs, wolves bears and humans attacking each other everywhere nowadays no matter what "sector" they're in.

Well my only true reason can be seen two way. The first being that animals in the Koprulu Sector are Semi-intelligent Pacifist. The Second being you can't compare Earth to Planets in the Koprulu Sector as most are wastelands. Besides this isn't Zoo Tycoon in Space. This is Starcraft. We can't have unlimited Animals running amuck on the map. That would be plain stupid. Now that would be plain stupid unless and I say unless it was that the animals were for aesthetic purpose only and were not able to be interacted with. That then would work.

Also, I am not Shadow Templar #2 I am ShdwyTemplar the names are close, but, are not the same. >:D

Sry Shdwy, didn't even knew that you existed. It is no more than a coincidence, I can assure you of that.

Anyways, I just think it would be a nice change of scenery, err mission. Why can't there be like a mission in which theres a Xel' Naga artifact hidden in some old temple. Sounds easy, until you find out the place is infested by fuzzy little bear men who can defeat high tech machinery and laser guns with stones, logs, and good luck. Why do we always have to fight just Terran, Protoss, and Zerg?

My point is, if anything is semi intelligent they will come together to defend their territory. Even if its just an animal, they should at least defend themselves.

/\ possibly none of those planets have any natural predators... ok, probably not. But I really don't know anything about alien ecosystems (as we haven't found any) and I'm much more concerned about the game play ramifications personally

If there were actually any semi-sentient beings in the alien worlds capable of taking the races on, the Terran would have destroyed them for fear that they threaten their worlds, the Zerg would have just incorporated or destroyed the entire species, or the Protoss would have placed them under their Stewardship, or any combination of the above. The critters we saw in the first game were probably just the few individuals who escaped this fate.

I don't really think that the creeps represented anything semi-sentient. They clearly weren't very intelligent or harmful. There were critters that didn't attack in the old Warcrafts (pigs, etc) which I think are more similar to the critters in SC.
