  1. Great post, Operational, I miss the old graphics already =/ I'm sure I'll get used to the new ones, but I know I'm not the only one that thinks they need to remove a LOT of the WOW and WC3 influence from the graphics, it's painfully obvious and for me greatly takes away from the revolution that Starcraft was and needs to be. I dare call some of the more 'cartonnish' elements of the new animations and graphics downright stupid, it looks like they're trying to make everything cute... ehhhh

Too much colored lighting can be the death of a great game! Makes it look like 'Walt Disneys Starcraft to me'

Beside the Bunker near the Refinery looks like a cube of vespene gas, it looks kinda grey.

Fromt he pictures you've shown, the only faction that looks worse, IMO, is the Zerg. Their buildings are far too cartoony for comfort. I really enjoy the new Terran look to be honest, particularly their structures. They're more at home with their envroment, so their buildings are as designed for harsh climates.

And just a point out, the battlecruisers are actually different classes (Yamato (old) vs. Behemoth (new))

I did notice some units have a larger scale than in SC1. It could be the zoom, so i don't really know. I'm just comparing the pictures of marines next to structures. The marines seem a bit larger in sc2 and in sc1, but then again a lot of units are.

I think I'll get used to the new graphics once I get to play the game for a bit. But I kind of wish that Zerg Creep would be a little darker. It's looks a bit like WC3 UD Blight in that shot, yech.

Those shots don't compare as closely as they could. THe SC1 shots are still, while the SC2 shots are in heavy combat. There'd be a lot more mess on the screen on the SC1 shots if, say, the SCVs were mining, the units were attacking each other, and there were more drones in the Zerg shot.

Remember that SC1 and SC2 will play natively on two very different screen resolutions. What looks blurry in a 600x500 image is very crisp when that same scene is displayed over a larger area. If you have a monitor that is capable of displaying the full screenshots at the correct resolution, do so right now. Even with the still-new Zerg, the only units that one might have trouble with are Zerglings and Larva.

If anything can be changed, in my opinion, it would be to add harder shadows and greater contrast between the parts of the units. It's not so much a matter of exaggerating the color, but exaggerating the darkness- that should make things much more distinct, if it is needed.
