Even if I order the parts and have a buddy help me put it together. When I throw in a monitor, I'm going to be over $800. More like $900-$1000. I will however have a little better graphics card.

The PC as it is will do me just fine for the games I play or want to play (SC2, Supreme Commander, Warfront, Star Trek online, Demigod perhaps).

So upgrading it would not be an immediate thing.

Hey, its not like next gen graphic hardwares change every year (maybe).... If you have the money to spare and believe that you will be satisfied for the next decade with what you will get... then I see no reason to be constipated with your decision. At the end of the day, you will be happy playin SC2 with the mrs. and the kids perhaps for the next years to come. The only factor that would hinder you is if you are a smart buyer and really trying hard to get quality for a good price. In that case, then do get advise from a pro as suggested by LK.

19' monitors are really cheap, 22' are also pretty cheap now, and if you wanted a 24' you can get one now for around 220 ish.

So save according to what size you want.
    These are just examples.

    24'

    22'

    19'

Like many of us said in this thread, sc2 won't come out for awhile, so the best idea is to keep saving.

Where did you want to order from?

Well anyways, you get what you pay for.

My advice is to save more and build yourself. As it is your not getting anything too great for your budget.

You don't need 8 GB of memory anyways, few people do, if you wanted to build custom I would say get 4 or 6 GB of ram and use the difference on a better video card.

Sounds like good advice. It will probably be another month anyway.

1000USD or more is the real sweet spot for customs, Could probably get a least a 22' in there.

I read some reviews of the computer. 99% positive rating. The only gripe was from someone who apparently bought a defective one and just assumed it was junk. Everybody else had nothing but praises for it. Even gamers love it.

But in a month there could be something out that is better and at the same price.

User reviews for any product really don't matter. Especially if they are on the buying website.

You said you wanted to play games on preferably a 22' monitor, and forged alliances is pretty demanding.

You will want a much better graphics card.

It wasnt on the buying website I read the reviews.

Yeah Im thinking I would prefer a better card too. A couple of them upgraded the card to either a 4600 or a 4800.

As it is it would do the job for me for now. But I can wait a month.
